I remember when I had the 3G and I was like one of the very few percent on my campus that had an iphone and we are talking 09 here. Then it got stolen. Now everyone and their mother has one.

That sucks to get it stolen like that... I bet it was your favorite thing in the world at the time, just having one made you feel like the coolest kid out there!!!

----------

iPod Photo/color 20GB -> then 30gb ipod 4th gen -> ipod touch 1st gen
-> iPhone 3G -> iPhone 4 -> iPhone 4S -> iPhone 5S

That's a lot of iDevices. Look how far you have come. iPod photo all the way to the iPhone 5s

----------

GameBoy Pocket

Oh, Apple device? iPod Mini

Haha, I loved my gameboy advanced sp. wish that counted.
I don't think I've really touched my gameboy since I got that iPod touch...

3rd Gen 4GB Silver iPod Nano. Was so cool! Everyone wanted my iPod :p

I'm sure they did want it, that was my favorite nano even though I never had one... I liked the shape and it was really just a smaller classic.

That's pretty sweet. I'm sure that was really cool because absolutely nobody had anything like that... There was no competition like the galaxy or HTC it was just the iPhone.

4th gen iPod Nano, blue 16gb. Coolest little player in the world (to me at least), beat lots of the games on it. Proceeded to get stolen ( :( )

Surprisingly, back then my choice was either between that or a 2g ipod touch (8gb), and I chose more storage. Then my family got an ipod touch, and I realized I had chosen wrongly :)

Moved to iPod touch 4g, now at iPhone 4S and hope to upgrade to the 5S soon-ish.

2nd gen iPod Mini, was green. Then got a 3G when it came out. Fudged up my vote putting the iPhone.

A humble iPhone 3GS opened the door to Apple for me in 2010. Loved iOS (knew I would love OSX so purchased iMac, followed by MB Air). Bought my 1st iPad in a iPad mini last year and an iPad rMini this year and an iPad for my mom. Had an iPhone 4, 4S, iPod touch in between all those purchases. My original 3GS was passed down to my dad, along with the 4 and 4S. I converted my whole family into Apple consumers.

Before Apple, my electronic consumer life revolved around everything Sony.

Ya that will be fun to get the 5s. Sad to see your nano get stolen I cherish my nano everyday, it is the first I device I bought with my own money. Ya the 2g touch was ahead of its time just like the iPhone.

I've been wanting to get a mini and put my own battery and 64gb of flash storage into it. I probably won't ever do it though. It is ok, I mess up my votes sometimes too, I'm sure your 3G was really fun...

Ya, my iPod touch 2 opened the door for me now just in our house alone we have 11 apple products and my grandparents also got iPhones, iPads, and iPods when they saw how cool my iPod was!!!

My first iDevice was a 1st gen iPod Nano with a storage capacity of 1GB.

1GB felt like a lot back then. No one would have ever thought that you could get so many songs on something that small

It is surprising nobody has said the shuffle yet. I would have thought there would be a few because they are cheap enough for people to give as gifts to children/family then that person moves on from there and gets more apple products.

Same here, the nano was the first thing I bought with my own money. It was so awesome! I think my upgrade is actually in September so I'll be holding out for the iPhone 6 (woot!).

Did you see the thread on modifying minis for audiophile sound and stuff? I can get a link... Really interesting, I've always wanted to get a mini or a really old classic. I remember on the older classics people modded them to add bluetooth. The good old days... :)

Oh, and just for the heck of it, I know my families stuff
My mom was the iPod classic 5g (video) as far as I can tell
Dad was an iPod Nano 2G (mine now. Rockboxed! I can watch Avatar on it for petes sake. That, my friend, is awesome. And pixelated).
Sister was an iPod nano 2G (RED)
other sister was iPod nano 3g
Grandfather was an iPod shuffle (not sure what gen).
Brother was iPod touch 4g but he got to use all the old ones first :p

That's pretty cool. Didn't know you could do that with a classic.

30GB iPod Photo.

Used it a few weeks and then lost interest in it. Wasn't until the first iPhone came out that I bought it and an iPod Classic that made me use the iPod Photo again off and on. The iPod Photo still works and still holds a charge although I haven't used it in about a year again.

There used to be an option in iTunes where you could check to not sync artwork so the title and artist info filled the screen.

First was the original "not a pack of gum" iPod shuffle.

Then I got a used iPod 3rd generation - 30 GB from a friend.

Then an iPod nano (first generation.)

Then an original iPhone (on launch day.)

Then, over time, newer of each except the full-size iPod.

Mine was iPod touch 4G 32gb black, then soon after bought a iPhone 4 16gb black, used that for almost a year and currently using a iPhone 5 16gb white and loving it! Huge upgrade to my 4.

My first was a 20GB 3rd Generation iPod Classic that I actually earned for free from one of those freeipod.com websites way back in 2005 or 2006. I used to listen to music on that thing for hours on end. Such a great device. :apple:
