What was your 1st iDevice?

iPod nano 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runs windows platform, not iOS. To simple and plain for that.

What in gods name are you talking about? Thread is about iDevice not Which OS it was running regardless of whether if it was running MS DOS

You are very observant. This thread is about iDevices indeed. Your very in depth question of HUH got me to answer with a very in depth answer.

2nd Gen iPod nano, grey, whatever the smallest size was (I think 2GB?)

Then I got a 2nd gen iPod touch, then a 4th gen iPod touch, then an iPhone 4S, then a 5, and we'll see what happens from then on...

Excuse my ignorance on the subject but where did you get the information that the first ipods and nanos were running Windows OS?

First idevice was the iPod video 60gb when it came out on '06 i believe...then got the 1st Gen iPhone when it came out in '07...6yrs later and still have an iPhone (5S 64gb)

I will snap a picture to show you the older nanos are on windows platform if you want. You dont know what your talking about, caveman.

Thats why i was asking you a question about that because i didnt know. But i guess youre too simple to discern the difference between someone asking a question and being sarcastic.

I also find it very surprising that apple would put windows OS to run iPod nanos ( maybe thats why ipods didnt support WMA files). I thought it was custom firmware.

Hello,

I have read your argument between yourself and caveman. iPod nanos have never ran internal windows software, however you can put one into windows computers or use LINUX. Which IS NOT windows and I believe it IS NOT preinstalled, it is a platform the user installs themselves. I don't know if you realized, Apple and Microsoft are enemies and Apple would NEVER have a form of windows on an iPod. They just have it Windows compatible, Also, may I refer you to my opening post (post #1) on the first page. I thoroughly described that I meant any Apple iPod, iPad, or iPhone, I did not sate iOS device or what hacks you may or may not be running on your Apple device.

Thank you.

I am surprised that apple did that as well, but that was back then. It isn't custom firmware.

You do not know what you are talking about! Linux has nothing to do with iPod. Windows platform is what ran the older ipods. So unless you know for a fact and can take a picture of it, I dont believe you. older iPod nanos run windows platform period.

My first device was a iPod 5th generation in 2007 (nowadays classic), but it took me a while to jump onto the Apple boat. But I then bought a Mac Air in 2011 and was infected with the Apple virus with more gadgets to come...

iPod Video 80GB that I got 2007. It was damaged several times, dropped from 1,6 meters, dropped in a lake, survived almost every element. But this year the hdd said sadly good bye. But my dad managed to bring it back to life by replacing another hdd from another donator. So it's alive, even today. :)
