Really now? How else can the statement above be construed? You were too quick to call me simple to understand complex intricacies of the world of iDevices and pointed out to me that nanos ran windows platform and now youre saying that you have never said that.

The screen shots that you posted mean that the storage on your ipod was formatted by you windows computer so that when you plug it, windows can recognize FAT32/NTFS partition table and sync itunes to your ipod.

So at the end of the day, i guess some proof reading would help you in your future endeavors. That is all.
Hey pal, cant you read? I never said anything about OS! I said format! The iPod nano runs on the Windows FORMAT!!! OS? No, iOS? No, Format? YES. Now we're getting somewhere.

He is completely right. That is because u have it so u can plug it in a windows computer. However as I stated above u can have Linux on your iPod nano.
Read what I told the caveman. It's Windows FORMAT. PERIOD.

So what was yout point then? It ran both on mac and windows, why did you feel the need to correct me in the first place?

So next time you wanna sound smart and corrext someone, so some research and try to have a clue what youre blathering about.

What was your 1st iDevice?

iPod 2nd or 3rd gen (the video one). Still use it, works great.

What the devil...

My point is that iPod Nanos (older generations) have the Windows format. You were (still are actually) the ignorant one in this subject. You, being the very bright guy, said HUH so I clarified and you challenged that clarification. And now, since I proved my point to show you're incorrect, you aren't very happy. I wouldn't be very happy with my name "caveman", either...especially if I acted like one.

Now go learn something, do something with your life.

When you say " nano s ran windows format" what exactly do you mean by that? Honestly, im gonna argue with you anymore because you clearly demonstrated your inability do differentiate between what partition table, to which the hard drive on the nanos, or all ipods for that matter, can be formatted vs the operating system that device itself ran.

Also, the nanos can have windows formatting, or mac os formatting depending which computer it was plugged into.

And on that HUH question that i asked, i was clearly being sarcastic and was not challenging anyone but you're too dumb to tell the difference. That is all

:rolleyes: You don't have a clue what you're talking about. I'll leave it at that.

My first Apple product was a second generation 16GB gray iPod Nano that I received as a gift for my 10th birthday. That's where the addiction began.

First gen iPad for me.

Back then, I was a dyed in the wool Apple-hater. I tried the iPad in the Cribbs Causeway Apple Store (Bristol, UK) and was amazed to find I really liked the device. Next stop was a Hackintosh and then lots of other Apple hardware followed! :)

iPhone 4S.

It's soon to be replaced by a new 5S, well replaced tomorrow (if all goes to plan!)

Thanks for the replies guys. Ive now just invited my uncle into the apple ecosystem by getting him an iPod touch! I thought that was appropriate as 7 members of my family all started with iPod touches and now all 7 of us have iphones!!! Like steve jobs said-the iPod touch is like training wheels for the iphone. Hopefully a year or two down the road my uncle will have an iphone of his own!

i pod nano first generation with 1gb memory.... swapped it due to the battery problem, very sorry about that because the design was still amazing.

My first iDevice I guess would fall under the category "iPod Classic" but it is actually known as the iPod Video (aka iPod 5th Gen). I had the original 5th gen model, not the 5.5 Gen that introduced a better screen and the 80GB model. I had the 30GB model, and I loved it. I kept everything that came with it, and even bought AppleCare, which I never used. The back was in almost immaculate shape, except for a few scratches and a small dent. Original battery was still good.

I ended up selling it about 3 years later when I upgraded to the iPod touch 3rd Gen, which too was sold when I got my iPhone 4. I had great memories with that iPod.

iPod 1st gen.

I bought it, as it turned out, about a week before they updated to the second gen. It was at that point I found the macrumors buyers guide.

My first iDevice was a 4th gen iPod touch for Christmas 2010. Although the home button has sunken into the device it's still going strong over 3 years later. I later upgraded to a 5th gen touch Christmas 2012. Bought my first iPhone (3GS) in Jan 2012 but upgraded to a iPhone 5 last April. Going to add my first iPad (32gig Air) to my collection on saturday:D

Ipod nano 1st gen 2GB!
After that a string of nano's then an 8gb iPod Touch 2nd gen, back in the day!!

my first iDevice was an iPhone 3GS and my cousin got an iPhone 3G the same day :apple:

What was your 1st iDevice?

iPod touch 2 generation back on 2009 still got it working and use it for listening to music and reading daily because If I use my 5S on a bus in my city It would probably get stolen.

After that I also owned an iPod touch 3 gen that I gave to my brother, my IPad 3 gen in January 2012 that I also use daily and an iPhone 4 32gigs I bought back on 2010 that works perfectly until today and I recently replaced for my iPhone 5S, I gave it to my father and he is happily using it; I never upgrade my devices until it is absolutely necessary :) so probably my 5 S will stay with me for a couple of years.
