I can't even say, it wasn't a well known name or anything. Just a beige Windows 3.11 machine that my dad used for work (and I used for Prince of Persia :p). The monitor said "D|I|G|I|T|A|L" on it but that's all I remember.

My first "own" computer was an IBM ThinkCentre that I inherited in my teens. It was awesome.

all i can remember from my first computer is it was a windows xp machine, other than that nothing just like you :)

We had a Macintosh IIsi. I really liked that machine; I seem to remember playing this one puzzle adventure game quite often. I wish I could remember the name...

I was 'leant' a few hand me down computers by my dad (mostly ex-office 386s) but my first computer was an unbranded 486 DX2/66 which I thought was blistering fast! Had a turbo button too lol. Was great for playing Doom and Tie Fighter on. Even installed Windows 95 on it, which took hours! Think it had 16mb RAM, later upgraded to 32.

Some dell tower computer which was pretty nice from when i was a kid. We got a huge box that i could fit inside, crazy now that a computer can fit in a backpack.

A Sinclair Spectrum. I remember being really upset when smoke came out of it on Christmas Day when I was a kid and then really made up when the shop replaced it with the 48K version. I had that till I was 13 and got an Atari ST which I then had till I was 20 and I got my first Mac.

My first computer was the Texas Instruments TI-99/4A purchased in 1981 while I was in the US Navy (training with the USMC as a Field Medic).

First I owned was an Atari 600XL. Didn't impress much so I talked my Mom into getting me a C64 and 1541 disk drive a few short months later.

The Commodore 64 was my second computer, after the TI 99/4a, and the 1541 floppy drive opened up a whole new world with that computer. Loved it!

A Compaq "luggable" with a nine-inch display, running DOS, it had dual 5.25"l floppy drives, and later on a hard card in an expansion port. I think I got it in 1983 or 1984. Thirty eight pounds, I think it ran at like 12MHz. I'm telling you, 38 pounds is not all that luggable when you're throwing it in your car every weekend. It weighed more than the clothes, food and books etc. I was toting along by about three times over.

First Mac was a 512k unenhanced in 1985. Another early one I got was a Powerbook 170. For the price of the two of them I could have got two more used VWs... but I loved them!

Started out using these at school... (my first computer belonged to the university)

1 wrong card and life was not good... :(

My first computer was ADAM by Coleco.

----------

I think it was about 1984. Neat because nobody else mentioned the ADAM computer yet.

Here's the original advert. We had a borrow of one of these back in the day...

The zx80/81 keyboard was a pain to use.

In these days of compact designs, how about a return to a keyboard (now with touchpad) with integrated computer ;)

I remember the anticipation.....The waiting...the endless hours typing in on the truly awful KB!..but it was cutting edge...at the time:D

It turns out you could use garageband on the spectrum...

Tried looking for some of those old magazine listings. I have a book I had at the time with BASIC listings in. Did anyone ever bother saving them on to tape afterwards, I know I couldn't be bothered.

Err, must admit I can't imagine that working....:D

No, I had loads of them pages of code that was frequently wrong or wouldn't run...I'm sure it wrecked my eyesight..!
