I'm two years away from paying off my '05 Honda Civic Si, so I'm not planning on buying a new car anytime soon. However when the time comes, my next car will probably be a Honda hybrid or a smart.

I'm in the market for a new or slightly used car now.

We went out yesterday to a couple of dealerships and test drove the cars I was most interested in. I was really surprised that both dealerships just handed me the keys and told me to go test it out. I've always had to take the dealer with me in the past.

Anyways, we drove:

Saab 9-3 2.0T
Volvo S40
Volkswagen Rabbit
Volkswagen Jetta

I was really, really impressed with the 9-3. The car looked and felt high quality, which was good considering the price (it's a used 07 model). It was quick both off the line, and when hitting the gas while already going 40.

I'm still considering the Rabbit too, as it was a nice ride, albeit slower than the 9-3. I was not impressed with the stock stereo and speakers, which was disappointing, but did LOVE the heated seats.

The Jetta was fine, since it's basically a Rabbit sedan. The S40 was a nice ride, very smooth, but the interior styling is a bit plain. Neither of those are on the short list anymore, although I wouldn't pass up a fantastic deal on either.

So right now I'm probably looking at buying a used 07 9-3 in the near future.

Reliability wise I would stay away from anything VW, so it's between Saab 9-3 2.0T or Volvo S40. That's my opinion anyway.

My next car will be a used Chrysler 300C (loaded, with the Hemi). Hopefully a 2007 or '08, which I will be able to afford about the time I'm graduating college.

I like your style. I'm aiming for one of them also, and my current car is a '98 Plymouth Breeze (not sure if your username is correct in your case or not...)

Them 300s rock. What colour would you want?

Ahaha, yes - my username is a play on that car. I'm a Mopar guy if you can't tell! While I don't have a Plymouth Breeze, I do have one of its cousins, a 2000 Chrysler Concorde:

I'd like it in either black (I wash my car about every three days, so that color getting dirty wouldn't be an issue) or silver. Or, if I was feeling bold, "Inferno Red."

I drive a VW now, but I think my next car will be a BMW 1 series. That'll be after graduation though.

Currently I drive a 2007.5 GMC Sierra Duramax. My next car/truck, depending on how life treats me, will either be a GMC Top Kick Duramax, or a Cadillac CTS-V which would get Ling'd.

I think that my next (and first) car will be a 1975 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe.

I'm getting it for free, so who cares how ugly it is? Can you say Apple car? :D

This is so totally going to be an art car.

I have been agonizing over this decision for what seems like months. Problem is that I like too many cars, and I seem to want to get in over my head. The longer I look the more cars I become interested in. The current list (all 2008 or 2009 models):

Cadillac CTS (not likely, a bit at the limit of what I want to spend)
Nissan Altima Coupe
Acura TSX
Honda Accord Coupe
Toyota Corolla XRS
Mazdaspeed3
Mustang GT
Pontiac G8
Dodge Charger
or wait for the Camaro

I just don't know how to choose! It seems that lately I have been leaning more heavily towards the Mustang.

Just came back from the 12 Hours of Sebring where I saw the new E92 M3 Coupe (an instructor from the BMW Performance Center brought one to show). It is tempting. Loved the sound of that high-revving V8. Then my salesperson sent me an email that he has the M3 coupe and sedan demos in. Guess I'll have to go do a test drive. Still lovin' my 05 M3 though...

Of the cars you listed, I've driven the Altima Coupe, TSX, Pontiac G8, and Accord Coupe. I have to say I like the Nissan the best. I would be tempted to wait until the Camaro is released - the car looks sweet. My dad had an one back in the day and loved it. I'm tempted to get one when sometime, but I've fallen in love with German cars - it'll feel like cheating ;)

Opinion standpoint i'd stay away from anything Frisco says.

Do you have any experience with this or are you just spouting off? I've had 5 VW's and none of them had reliability issues.

My 08 GTI, which granted is just 3 months old is terrific.

I've never been inside one, but I love the look from the outside. Gotta get it in silver and tint the windows.

They are really great cars. Not exactly brimming with quality or refinement, but a V8 powered luxury car with 75k miles going for $8,000? I'm sold. Plus, the Northstar has to be one of the best powerplants ever; with the exception of the good 'ol blowing headgasket.

I am not alone in my opinion. Thread

Probably this:

I just love Saabs (this would be my fifth). I am old enough to enjoy the utility of a station wagon, but still young enough to appreciate sporty styling and good road performance.

It is a 2005 btw...the newer models were redesigned and I find them a little ugly.
