I drive a 2001 Toyota Celica now, but hopefully within the next year I can get a 2004 Mazda RX-8

Ok, as mentioned in my earlier post, my next auto purchase is most likely a few years down the road...BUT I really would like to get a new FOLDING bike this summer (only $400-700 for a really nice bike that I could use around town and take just about anywhere with me) Now that's something that I could get excited about :D

Here's a decent example for about $700:

I really like the tsx but i've had my fill of fwd, horrible wheel hop w/ the rsx lol. I'd like to get my hands on the new m3 saloon that I've heard is due pretty soon :D...I'd settle for an s2k also

I don't know about a "car" but I will be getting the 2009 Yamaha R1 next year :D
SWEET!! I love my R1!! Will the 2009 be your first R1? How much HP at the crank is Yamaha claiming for the 2009?

My first new car was on 05 Scion tC. Its been a great car. Never had any problems. I just recently paid it off and I think its almost time to get a more "professional and mature" vehicle. I feel its better to show up for a business lunch with potential restaurant investors in one of these, as opposed to my Scion.

So hopefully within the next 6-8 months (they dont come out til March) I can pick up the new 135i...

I think I'd like my next car to be a Lexus IS350.

Other cars that are on the wish list might be...
Porsche Boxster
Nissan 350Z
Infiniti G37 Coupe

But, there's also a part of me that would just like to have a small econo-box with a manual transmission. It has been a while since I shifted my own gears, and I miss it. A Corolla or a Scion tC would be just fine.

After the Corolla dies most likely a Smart ForTwo

Don't need a car in NYC, but when I get out of college... definitely an S2000. Dream car since it was introduced. :) Hopefully I'll be able to afford one once I get out !

he seems to think he can still drive two seater roadsters and GTIs though

Please, please, don't become "that" wife. :(
But I do know it will be another Camry, they're reliable cars.
Boring as **** != great. ;)
I have a 2006 Subaru Impreza so it wont be anytime soon that I get a new car.
Same car :D I've got about 3.5 years left on the loan, so I'll have it AT LEAST that long (hopefully longer).
I did want a Subaru WRX STi but they ruined that unfortunately. The Evos look uglier now too. So who knows what I will want next.
I think the new STi looks much better than the Evo X. The fender flares give it the attitude that the 2.5i and WRX are missing.
i currently drive an 04 subaru impreza wrx... my next car will likely be a subaru impreza wrx sti.... just not sure which year its going to happen
I vote 07 (although I'd take an 08 for the transmission alone. 3-cone synchros FTW)
Sporty design does not equal sporty driving.
What part of the Corolla looks "sporty" to you?
And I've already disagreed with you, except I have the facts to back up my assertions.
Anecdotes are NOT facts.

I don't know what my next car will be specifically, but I'm damn sure it won't be wrong-wheel drive. FWD FTL.

oh yeah that too. i thought about getting a R1 raven a few years ago. but mom "joked" that if i ever ride, she'd start a funeral fund for me. :(

What facts?

The idea of limiting the HP in cars that a new driver can operate sounds like a plan with no downside.

I don't know how many times I have to repeat this, but here it goes.

Some people on this forum are saying (or agreeing) to the statement that "No teen should have/can handle a car with a lot of horse power." I don't agree with that statement. I think it should be "Most teens can't handle a car with a lot of horse power." The reason I think it should be this revised statement, is because I know of at least 2 teens (myself included) that have handled horse-power not only responsibly, but a lot better than most adults have. This is in direct conflict to the absolute terms of "NO TEEN" at the beginning of the original statement that some are agreeing with.

And the idea of limiting HP in cars that a new driver can operate sounds like a plan with a lot of downside. The most glaring downside being is that it limits freedom of choice. Who are you to tell me that I can't get a powerful car if I can afford it just because of my age? You don't know anything about me: my upbringing, how much I respect the road, how much I respect the law, how much I respect cars and don't want to see a nick or scratch on them. You shouldn't be able to dictate what kind of car I should be able to get just because some other people in my age group might be safer in a car with less horsepower.

Again, I've gotten out of at least 1 accident because of the horsepower my car has. By the way, it's a stick shift, which keeps me always paying attention to driving and not other things like eating or talking on the phone. So unless you NEVER talk on the phone while driving, NEVER are distracted and driving below your potential, don't tell me what car I should be driving.

right now im driving a hand me down '94 Honda Accord and it has almost 126,000 miles on it, but still driving fine :D

i hope to get a good looking hybrid car that comes out soon, because i am looking for a new car, but i want something that gets really good gas mileage, and looks good. ;)

can you guys believe that Henry Ford's Model T got better gas mileage than many cars today? the Model T got 25-30mpg and the car could run on either gas or ethanol. 200 years later our cars are getting WORSE gas mileage than Henry Ford's Model T?!?! what is going on??

I'm envious iBlue. I'm trying to get an internship in London as we speak, I'd love the opportunity to go there again, I love the city, it's a great place. Sure, taxi rides cost an arm and a leg, but you have such great public transportation you can get anywhere pretty quickly!
