i’m surprised they still use numbers for all of their operating systems. I’m surprised they don’t just call it literally the new iOS or do like Microsoft andcall it macOS (fall 2020 update)Ya know, there's no code names for the other Apple OSs, I think I'm OK with them dropping it. MacOS 10.16. Yep, all I need right there. Maybe someday macOS 11? I still remember Mac OS 9 so why not?
I think that Mavericks, Yosemite, Sierra, and Mojave were pretty good names.to be honest, i hope they move on from naming macOS places in California, i mean Catalina! what a boring name. Places in the universe, or back to animals would be much better.
To not confuse customers. Why iOS versions don't also have such names lol
That will be the name of the ARM version of macOS when they finally close the ability to run third-party apps and only allow apps from the App Store like iOS.MacOS Alcatraz
The can call it whatever they like as long as I can call it "better than Catalina!".
Wouldn’t get your hopes too high, it feels like Apple cuts off computers every two years. Sierra cut off computers, then Mojave cut off computers. Wouldn’t be surprised if this year is cut off‘s computers. I’m just not sure where exactly they’ll draw the line.
Not true. Snow Leopard cut off all PowerPC computers. That's why I said "if it's an optimization cycle". Leopard cut off computers but Snow Leopard included all the ones from the previous year. Same with Yosemite and El Capitan and I believe with all other optimization cycles.
I'm not expecting anything really. This iMac has been in the throes of death for the last couple of years. I'm impressed it's still working.
Snow leopard literally cut off all computers that weren’t running on Intel processors, mountain lion also cut off tons of computers. That's why I said "if it's an optimization cycle".
