Like 3D Touch was, or TouchID was? ;)
In his defense Apple did barrow mobile payments and fingerprint sensors are nowhere new. Tbh it would not kill them to "copy" Android's notifications. Seriously iOS is 2010 vs 2016 when it comes to notifications.

Not new, but weren't anywhere close to mainstream or approachable until Apple implemented their version and others moved into it all.

I don't think the 7 is going to introduce anything new that we can't live without. It will likely introduce a much more sophisticated dual-lens camera, possibly with LinX tech where you can focus anywhere in the pic even after it is taken.

That said, Apple has already introduced plenty of things that I can't live without. The most important one probably being iMessages, Facetime, and its vertical integration with the ipad and macbook. Having everything linked up so I can take a call or reply to a message anywhere I am? That's priceless. With the watch, I'm even able to turn off alarms when I am in the shower and my phone alarm is going off.

I've had several long distance relationships that relied on Apple's Facetime/Videochat platforms.

I'd like to see more than just simply waterproof. I'd like to see a phone that is capable of great underwater photography and videography. Sure, GoPros get the job done but wouldn't you rather just use your phone instead? I know I would. I was just in the pool with my kid today and I thought about how neat it would be to be able to use my iPhone to capture good underwater photos and video.

You know it's time for Apple to really get back in heat when you have all of these sarcastic "anti Apple" quotes being up voted and not a single person complaining about them all happening in MR, no less!

This would be awesome, but this alone wouldn't get me to upgrade. It would give me something to look forward to on the next phone thiguh! :)

Probably optical-zooming cameras...reserved for the 7 Pro.

iPhone Pro? no, no, no .... not with this feature.

It'll require a new version of iTunes that obsoletes all Macs not running el cap.. While still supporting Windows Vista.

The killer must have feature? A self destruct micro explosive component that blows up the iPhone if it detects that it's owner is more that 3 inches away.

Apple will market this as a security feature protecting your iPhone from the government. However, 6 months after hitting the market, iPhone owners will suddenly realize that Apple has found a way to ensure that nobody ever sets their phone down, and consequently people are even more consumed and addicted to their phones.

The downside discovered later... The blast will take out a square mile radius. Upgrading to a new phone requires a specialized task force consisting of Apple specialists and government bomb squads.

Capitalizing on this necessity, Apple refuses to "unpair" iPhone owners from their current phone if they are attempting to switch to an Android phone.

Realizing their "captive" market, Apple moves iPhone users to a subscription model, adopting the slogan "live for only $30 a month".

The FBI attempts to order Apple to circumvent the security feature to enable prosecution of suspects. The FBI later drops the case when they realize that simply forcing suspects to put their phone down eliminates the problem of having to conduct an investigation, and likewise eliminates the need for a trial.

iPhone 7 praised for increasing Apple's profits, stopping people from Switching to Android, and eliminating the need for prisons.

I agree, as Continuity has been a fantastic feature that I literally just used, having started an email on my rMBP at the office, was waiting for data from a colleague to include in the email, but had to leave for an appointment before the information came in. No worry, I just opened the draft email (that's sitting there from my rMBP) on my iPhone, added the information and sent it from the car.

Same thing for taking or making calls from my rMBP or iPad, when it's easier to do than pulling out my iPhone. Great stuff for sure.

I don't need some crazy new feature to make me interested in the iPhone 7 or 8 or...as long as Apple continues to improve it, the physical hardware and software, I'm about as hooked into the ecosystem and earning a living using their products, so I'm not going to jump ship.

He has to say it regardless if this is just a hype to prop up stock pricing. We want Apple to bring breakthrough products but that takes a visionary like Steve Jobs was... Now what i don't get is that despite enormous profits the R&D budget for Apple is smaller then some Chinese phone makers which barely make ends meet. Lack of true innovation and pursuing mass market with incremental improvements of products that Jobs developed are hallmarks of corporate mentality that will eventually bring Apple down, like it already happened in 80s. On topic, OLED screen will make me upgrade

As others have said. Can't live without feature for me is going to be waterproofing/water resistance. Even if its rated the same as my Apple Watch, that is more than enough.

It will finally come with 32 gb's of storage but cost $100 more. You can't live without having to pay the extra $100 :(
