Oh, you'd live without it. But nobody's going to do that. We're all going to run out like chickens to get it... anyway! What will Tim Cook’s ‘can’t live without’ new feature for iPhone 7 be?

its 50% less cost, and a better form factor. After saving some little £££ you will be given a recycled brick with some insufficient upgrades
Couldn't quite recall at the moment if 3GS had something specially new vs. just upgrades/improvements to existing things.Given the hype of the 6S was that everything changes....I'm going with more makerting BS. The only reason I got the 6S plus was 2GB of ram, got annoyed with crashes due to ram. All the other features are gimmicks , had the 5SE been out I would have got that , and saved myself £££

I like how you said "pretty much all "![]()
It'll require a new version of iTunes that obsoletes all Macs not running el cap.. While still supporting Windows Vista.
The killer must have feature? A self destruct micro explosive component that blows up the iPhone if it detects that it's owner is more that 3 inches away.
Apple will market this as a security feature protecting your iPhone from the government. However, 6 months after hitting the market, iPhone owners will suddenly realize that Apple has found a way to ensure that nobody ever sets their phone down, and consequently people are even more consumed and addicted to their phones.
The downside discovered later... The blast will take out a square mile radius. Upgrading to a new phone requires a specialized task force consisting of Apple specialists and government bomb squads.
Capitalizing on this necessity, Apple refuses to "unpair" iPhone owners from their current phone if they are attempting to switch to an Android phone.
Realizing their "captive" market, Apple moves iPhone users to a subscription model, adopting the slogan "live for only $30 a month".
The FBI attempts to order Apple to circumvent the security feature to enable prosecution of suspects. The FBI later drops the case when they realize that simply forcing suspects to put their phone down eliminates the problem of having to conduct an investigation, and likewise eliminates the need for a trial.
iPhone 7 praised for increasing Apple's profits, stopping people from Switching to Android, and eliminating the need for prisons.
There won't be one. Yet Cook is bound to use the Apple Smoke and Mirrors Hype Machine.
The Apple Logo alone assures headlines, fat profit and the kind of buzz the Cupertino Co craves.

Well, the 5s had TouchID that wasn't there on the 5 (or any other phone before). There are certainly spec bumps usually (sometimes bigger ones than other times), but there's usually a new hardware/OS level feature/function as well.I remember getting it and it being noticeably faster, unlike say the 5 and 5s that I could not tell a differnce in day to day tasks. Though most of the S models were really spec bumps and improvements.

Better transfer speeds would be welcome. Doubt there will be any type of oled on iPhone 7, but maybe standardize on 1080 across the board.Whatever features Apple puts in next iPhone won't matter if they are still offering old IPS panels.
The next iPhone needs
1. SAMOLED display with following resolutions.
7 Plus: 1242 × 2208 with no bullcarp upscaling/downscaling wizardry. Fit those damn pixels in 5.5" or 5.7" display.
7 : 1080 x 1920
Both the models must have USB 3 transfer speed over lightning port.

Right, plus 6s has 3D Touch (whether someone might find it useful or not so far).Good point, the 5S with Touch ID I found really useful. Guess for me Siri in the 4S was a non event. And the 6S plus had 2GB ram which was a huge upgrade for me, and no more crashes.
We are going to go back to the first gen iPhone that will simply be faster, but without a larger and/or better screen, 3G or LTE, or updated cameras, or Lightning connector, or many other new things that have been introduced since the first gen iPhone? He's trying to stop the stock from bleeding. It'll be the same iPhone that was introduced in 2007. Just faster.

So...not the first gen iPhone from 2007 that's simply faster then?Larger screen - they were late to the party. LTE is standard. Faster CPU is a given. Lightning Connector is a joke and should be USB 3 by now. Cell phone cameras are cell phone cameras and always will be.
...Tim Cook's got nothing.
If it's anything like Maps or Siri, it'll be useless at launch and take years for it to worth a damn. Without investment in machine learning, I highly doubt has anything like a "how could I live without" feature.
So basically what the first gen iPhone already had?So iPhone7 will bring one feature we can't live without. So currently with iPhone6, there are 6 features (one live-without feature per major version I assume) we can't live without? (up volume, down volume, mute, earphone, microphone, and display)???
Option to install Android ;-)
A reliable SIRI that can provide answers. Google Voice still beats it by a mile. What will Tim Cook’s ‘can’t live without’ new feature for iPhone 7 be?

While the long-overdue increase to 2GB RAM was much needed, that silent change is only relevant to the small minority of tech conscious folks. Apple doesn't even discuss this in their ridiculously grandiose keynote (and never has). If they thought it was a game-changer worth emphasizing, they would have.
6 plus was the worst iPhone I ever had and I've had all but the 5c at this point. It's possible I love my 6s plus so much because of this fact. As kid browsing and multitasking I do between 3-4 apps, the phone was borderline unusable. It seemed to get worse with age.Yeah, it depends on the users usage . For me it was a major upgrade, my 6plus would constantly crash due to memory issues.
