Yes, but its not what most will do and why the **** do it like this when Apple can just do it the right way. Plus if you get a new phone or Mac it's not going to work anyway.

First you complain about too many features. Then you complain about needing to stay up to date. Then you complain about wanting to buy a new Mac with old software. Dude. Just stop.

I don't really understand what value there is to adding a camera to the watch. I haven't ever found myself wanting or needing a camera.

Any ideas?

People said exactly this to me when I took pics on my Nokia camera phone back on 2004.

"Build it and they will click."

No 10.12. Just no.

Another OS update. Joy!

I had enough trouble finding Yosemite drivers for my still working-just-fine scanners and printers, and so have eschewed El Capitain. And in fact really don't do much with the OS I didn't do in Tiger (my last Mac before this one). The notification bar is a joke I've never been able to get working - the headlines are all months old, e.g., and iTunes keeps starting itself (almost every day).

So while I still fall into the RDF a bit during keynotes, and I'm probably forgetting niceities that improve my computing life in small ways, I'm not really that moved by OS upgrades any more....

Tabs in Finder are a god send though.

While i do believe apple macbook pro 2016 will be a masterpiece, i do think once again apple will be late on stage. By the time apple brings out the macbook, many people will allready have bought a skylake notebook or even surfacebook. And if someone has allready made a purchase, so am i, he will keep that purchase till next time. Sure that are only my toughts.

Wouldn't be too surprised if Apple's red-headed stepchild (also known as the Mac Min) continues to be tragically neglected. So much untapped potential there just going to waste. So sad.

This is something a lot of us have been wanting for a long time. The headless mac. Something between the mac pro and mac-mini.

Personally I'd be happy with just a high end i7, a proper desktop nvidia maxwell (or this year pascal) gpu, the ability to upgrade drives and memory, and competative pricing overall. Would be an instant sale for me - and perfect for so many that need something more than a mini, but for which a pro is overkill (especially price wise).

I've known loads of Windows users over the years who wanted to switch to Macs but couldn't find an option that they were comfortable with. Apple has never played to those people despite all the switcher/Mac-and-PC campaigns they've run in the past. Coming from the PC world, none of them wanted an all-in-one iMac. They balked at the outrageous cost of the Mac Pros and were amused and put off by the underpowered Mini with no expansion options.

There's this sweet spot for a desktop Mac that Apple is either blind to or completely unaware of. I've never understood what's going on there. They could have so many Windows switchers. I think a headless, mid-range Mac with a reasonable amount of upgradeability is a no-brainer addition to Apple's line-up but it continues to not exist. Crazy.

hopefully they will have learned something from the messes that were the apple watch, macbook and iPad pro launches [accessories]. 4th time lucky maybe.

Indeed the new MBP could be very nice indeed if design cues are taken from the macbook [the nicest laptop I have ever owned and I have had all the MBP models updated every year for the last 6]. I am really looking forward to the redesign and have held off on an iMac purchase for it.

Currently my MBP 15" [2014 model] sits behind the display and never moves as it is a brick and feels so dated in comparison to the MB.

Apple will undoubtedly work on improving services like HomeKit

By "Improving" do you mean "Releasing"? Im a pretty big apple eco system person and I have not one item that uses this alleged "HomeKit" service.

Too many OS transitions. I remember when each one was a good 2-3 years and they actually took time to make them stable. Heck, I'm still on Mountain Lion for my main system as I found it the most stable of all of them.

I think you should start comprehension lessons. The fact is, like for example with iOS 8 which was released on September 17, 2014 it took how many months until they got it to the point where it was really good? Yes, 8.4.1 was released on august 13, 2015.

When was iOS 9 released? September 16, 2015.

18-24 months cycle is the most optimal. Every time they release a major version it feels like garbage until they fix most of it with point releases and by the time they do it they release a new one in September. Thats not even 6 months in between.

It's like if they are not going to release a new version of iOS no one will buy next iPhone. Which is crazy. Now they have put themselves in this position where they are basically forcing themselves to release a new version every year. It's pretty obvious that software quality can't keep up with this cycle.

Like some guy was arguing that Apple can't add features or fix apps in .x releases. Seriously? They can add features to all the app in a iOS 9.5 release for example. Nothing is stopping them technically. Plus continue to fix bugs.

To everyone's surprise, Apple's Product Management just revealed that it has, in fact, been following the Mac Rumors forums with immense interest during the last year. According to usually well-informed leaks within Apple Marketing, this is a draft ad for the new MacBook model.

No USB 3? Fail.

I just want a really good 4 inch phone. Depending upon its features, I might also consider getting the Apple Watch 2 also (despite already being a "test case" 1st gen buyer).

Other than that, my main interests are all software-based. Maximising the iPad Pro potential and increasing the Mac OS's stability would be very nice.

Given Apple's upsell strategy perfectly working on iToys, maybe they believe that who's not satisfied with Mini specs jumps directly to the Pro

Heck I know a number of software developers who will only use Windows, but bought iMacs to run it on, simply because of the design aesthetic. I would go so far as to say that just like the low end Mac user, Apple is not really interested in serving the Windows customers who don't want to pay a premium either, and that approach doesn't seem to be hurting their Mac sales one bit. Apple may not have the dominant platform, but they are selling more Macs year after year relative to the rest of PC industry that caters to Windows. And friends like mine partially explain some portion of that, however small.

Agree, but would still like an i7 (quad-core please) option included

MacMinis, please!

I would like an updated Skylake MacMini. Please include discrete graphics on the map d to high end models. There is no reason why discrete graphics cannot be included.

I would rather see only i5 chips with no i7 option, but have a GPU and nice video ram option.

Mac Mini update, please. Better yet, upgrade the Mac Mini along the lines of the coming Sklyake MacBook Pro 13" and add a Mac Mini Pro model with all of the options (or better) of the soon to be upgraded MacBook Pro 15". Would buy a maxed out Pro (or 2) the moment it hit the store.

Given that the MacPro can have its processor switched out by the end user is there any indication which processors are compatible? Furthermore is there any indication as to weather or not one would be able to switch out the GPUs with the updated AMD units?

The Macbook product line is a shambles.
The Pros need a complete redesign- thinner bezels, lighter, SSD options up to 2TB, and much much better graphics card options through the line than the on-chip Intel garbage.
OSX updates are mostly tweeking and massages with very poor graphic design (reintroduce colour, get rid of the grey).
Apple software is also a mess, continual historic abandonware, removal of functionality and downgrading, lack of backwards file compatibility.
Apple under Cook is lightweight.

I have not liked a bezel on a macbook since my beloved G4 tiBook. Why the bezel? Are they trying to make it look like an iPad? Thats fine if there is a need for it, but looking like something you are not is not a need.

I continue to not like the glossy screens on laptops/desktops. For me it ends up being a reflection distraction. Desktop maybe ok, but with a laptop there is usually no way to control the light around you, unless you are in your office, but then you'd be on your desktop anyway, and my desktop monitor IS NOT GLOSSY.

Thats quite the list of rumored "improvements". Nothing very exciting however, based on Apple's recent track record of very conservative, small rather bland upgrades. It will be interesting to see what they do with the long in tooth iPhone, especially since apparently not everyone that wants one has one thus far, hence the continual record setting sales. With that kind of demand, Apple's incentive to truly refresh this model with a new design is nil. 2016 promises more hype, and less excitement, business as usual.

Apple Thunderbolt display 4K 24-inch with all those ports. Mac mini with 4 cores and 8 threads.
Given that Apple just introduced a 21.5" 4K iMac, if they were to release a standalone 4K monitor, it's likely going to be the same screen (just as the 27" TB display used the same screen as the 27" iMac).

This piece should be titled what MR thinks is coming. All of this is speculation.

Well, to be fair, they are speculating about rumours on a rumour specific website called "MacRumors"

They succinctly outlined their objective at the beginning -
"...outlining what we might see from Apple over the course of the next 12 months based on current rumors, past releases, and logical upgrade choices."

Surely it's not that difficult!

I'm not familiar with the mac release cycle or whether there is a particular cycle, but approximately when can we expect Apple to announce the new lineup of mac products? Also when can we expect the updated macs to be available for purchase? I guess any new releases take a bit longer to come to Australia.

I know its all speculation but any ideas?

Thanks!

Super anxious for the new 4" phone. My 5c's battery has more or less given up the ghost and if I can roll the $80 I'd pay for a battery replacement into a new phone itself that would be amazing.
