No way a 4" will have the same features. Nope. Apple wants you to buy the most expensive. That's already obvious with the 6 to 6 Plus.

I don't think those concepts are mutually exclusive. Apple could change their pricing structure and put a premium 4", 4.7" and 5.5" phone family writhing $50 of each other. And there's probably enough 4" customers who would opt for that.

But I don't think Apple will do that because they want as many customers as possible in order to offset costs initially. They're hopefully going to try to get the budget conscious 4-inchers who are willing to spend more to get it, and the more affluent 4-inchers who can afford more and will likely spend it on the 128gb upgrade. So the phone will have to be equal to the 6S in as many features at it will hold.

However, maybe the 7S is where we will see a 3-sized family of flagship phones, and this rumored 4" phone can be dropped to the budget 4" phone. The iPhone 8 would then see all three price tiers with 3 phone size options each -- assuming the 4" market proves profitable enough for Apple to keep around at the premium level.

I think the 6Plus will drop to an entry level $549 phone next year, and maybe kept around one more year to be the entry level $449 phone, along with the 6S. But once Apple gets all the Android converting holdouts they're going to, I can see them leaving the $449 phone as the 4" and 4.7" phones only, once again making the Plus a premium offering only at $649, with the logic that those last cheap android holdouts will be willing to spend more to stay with Apple.

Wake me up when they have the brains and courage to come out with a 15" MacBook Air with higher resolution and thinner bezels and the same number of ports plus HDMI out.
Like, Cupertino, it's not that hard to figure out what the people want.
P.S. Nobody cares about the damn OS X updates anymore
Sincerely, Mac fans everywhere

I don't really understand what value there is to adding a camera to the watch. I haven't ever found myself wanting or needing a camera.

Any ideas?

Ask Dick Tracy or Maxwell Smart. :) Pity neither of them patented the ideas like good patent trolls before Apple "invented" the idea.

Another year of the same stuff, incrementally updated so that we will all line up to re buy what we already have.

Lets hope for a better year bugwise and HW issue wise.

And what the stock price does....

I think I would be having a long look at a 15" Air with retina - I had not been considering this option as was fixed on a slimmed down MBP but this actually makes sense.

no doubt though the air will be canned and they will slim the MBP and everyone will complain that it is no longer a 'pro' machine.......

iPhone 6S Minus?
Are you a native English speaker? I ask because calling something a "minus" is a horrible marketing name, because it implies you are getting less, or the product is missing something desirable. The term "minus" is inherently negative by definition. It shows up in an accounting ledger in red, when your account is overdrawn. These are not good associations.

"Mini" at least imparts a quality -- e.g. 'it's everything the 6S is, but smaller!'

Depressingly I think that is exactly what will happen. The pro price will remain though.

And there will be no MBA to compete with mid range ultrabooks. You will be expected to pay a premium price for a low powered, port challenged MacBook or an even more premium price for a non upgradable/maintainable, integrated CPU rMBP instead.

I have been using macs since 1985, but it has got to the point where I am seriously looking at a clutch of win 10 ultrabooks for my kids. You might pay MBA price for a school laptop, but not rMB or rMBP prices.

A 4 inch iPhone... the 4 inch fanboys think its great for some reason.
As much as I prefer my 4.7-inch and I think it's the perfect size over 4 and 5.5, I think it's good for consumers to have 3 sizes to choose from.

I also think Apple needs a cheap iPhone, but a truly cheap one. Not cheaply made, but not something like the 5c which definitely looked much cheaper but ended up being like only $40 less expensive over a 3-years Canadian contract that can cost $2,000. There's like, no reason at all to choose that, unless you really prefer plastic.

I understood this to be a "joke" but I am not a native English speaker, so I possibly got it wrong.

Nope. :apple:

The Macbook product line is a shambles.
The Pros need a complete redesign- thinner bezels, lighter, SSD options up to 2TB, and much much better graphics card options through the line than the on-chip Intel garbage.
OSX updates are mostly tweeking and massages with very poor graphic design (reintroduce colour, get rid of the grey).
Apple software is also a mess, continual historic abandonware, removal of functionality and downgrading, lack of backwards file compatibility.
Apple under Cook is lightweight.

First, I would expect the real push in cars (CarPlay) even in more cars than now. More aftermarket units supporting it.
Second, the homecoming of HomeKit ( :)). If there are any bottlenecks to its widespread? Can it fully replace the expensive Google thermostat? Make it truly industrial strength protected. Make it manageable through AppleTV.
Third, improvement of AppleMusic and iCloud. iCloud syncs now very well and fast, my impression, almost like Dropbox.
Fourth, further IBM collaboration to see more Macs in the business.
Fifth, further move into education. Maybe, revival of plastic iBooks? I mean, iBooks were retired in 2009 to make place for more expensive MBAs. But now Macs are not a main business. So, lowering a bit margins in notebooks for market share in OS X is permissible. Bring in black slim iBook, i3, 4GB of RAM, 12 inch (non-retina) for 899 dollars.
Sixth, desktop Macs. The video Pro Mac is fine, but desktop it ain't. Bring in El Capitan modern case, i7, 16GB of RAM, GTX950. 999 dollars. Will sell like hot cakes.
Seventh. Apple-sim (or non-sim) AppleWatch2 with 3G capability and sensors discussed above.
Eight. Bring in rugged AppleWatch2 with solar battery, barometer, altimeter, thermometer, 3G, large size and battery - a travel watch, a rival to Casio ProTrek and G-shock.
Nine.Further improve AirDrop.
Ten.Make Foxconn produce iPhones in Brazil, Argentine and India.
Eleven. Further improve security and corporate networking, make FaceTime a true rival to Skype.
Twelve.Make Apple's Connect more visible.
Thirteen. Make Apple Pencil work with Macbooks (certainly with trackpads).
Fourteen. Make more innovative products and don't be afraid to dare. Remember, while you are the most expensive company in the world, you have a soul of underdog :)
Now there is a guy who has mastered the multi quote feature. :D
Like a boss!

Apple has done a good job in filling in whatever hardware holes they had. At this point really the only hole is the 4" phone. Bring that back would be a good thing. Tweaking the hardware with faster processors and memory is always welcomed, but my hope is that Apple really spends a lot of energy in stability. They downgraded all of their apps to make them universal and cloud compatible, but now we need to bring back features and get the apps back to somewhat competitive. I am talking about the iworks and photos app in particular. The OS have seen some problems and can always use more quality controls, but in general, I seem them as way better than what I experience with Windows that has horrible quality issues.

So Apple, please standardize all the hardware to one connector USBC and make everything Retina display. Otherwise, let's work on those apps.

You don't see the value of adding a camera to a device that is always worn openly on your wrist, and is tied to a smartphone with an always-on data connection through a national telecom provider?

The NSA applauds your lack of imagination. Keep up the good work, citizen!

You're also forgetting the impossibility of having 25% less battery while having MORE battery life than the 6S!
Even if they removed 3d touch, it's still not likely.

To everyone's surprise, Apple's Product Management just revealed that it has, in fact, been following the Mac Rumors forums with immense interest during the last year. According to usually well-informed leaks within Apple Marketing, this is a draft ad for the new MacBook model.

If I owned an Apple Watch, it certainly wouldn't be "worn openly" on my wrist while I was out-and-about today. It would have been buried under the long-sleeved flannel shirt I'm wearing, which itself is under a winter jacket. Oh, and then I'd also have to remove the thick glove from my left hand.

The NSA would be disappointed with all those pictures of my sleeves and gloves! :)

looking forward to a skylake iMac 5K with an awesome new gpu to replace my current 5K imac. Iphone 7 will be insteresting and Ill buy it. I allready have an steel link apple watch, not gonna buy a new one ever I think. too short battery and too little fun to make justice for the cost of it...only the workout part is actually useful..I say apple watch will not become a big success over time. To expensive, people dont need it.

Was the Apple Watch ever marketed as "Fun"? Sounds like you wanted a device to play angry birds on your wrist.
