I have a feeling all SMS/iMessages will sync across all devices appropriately connected to your Apple ID/iCloud account/whatever is needed. I see it as being like Photos where they are made available to all devices. With SMS Relay will I be able to browse through previous SMS messages from folks?
Like...if I receive a text message from someone in the afternoon while I'm away from my Mac, when I return to my Mac will the SMS be there or will only the ones delivered to my iPhone while proximate to my Mac will be shown (like how calls are)?
...so the edits we make with all of the photo apps on our devices will be with a smaller, compressed "iOS version" of the picture? I don't like this. I bought the 128gb iPhone for a reason. I just hope there's a way to turn that feature off...
so APple's making the desktop, more of mobile experience ??
Why would u wanna receive SMS on a Mac ? when your phone is right next to u..
It would need to be since u have to set it up, which by the time that's done, i could look at several SMS's on my phone.
Facetime is ok,,, but to me, mobile should be stuck to mobile, not for desktop..
The moment you try and merge, it just gets all crazy... Some things are ok, like Notification Center, just as long on desktop u load it up with 24 things and its too cluttered.
There is a place for everything, and what works best for what device it's on..
However, Apple doesn't see it that way.
They really need to place a disclaimer in these articles that none of these hand off features will work if your mac is 3 or more years older.
Is that true? If so, this is the first I have heard of that. My iMac is the top of the line i7 2010 model, and it's still a very capable machine. I would be surprised and not a bit happy if these new features didn't work on it.
Just because you have no use for something or use things in one way doesn't mean that it applies to everyone else.so APple's making the desktop, more of mobile experience ??

Can someone tell me how to get phone calls to work on the Mac? I have Yosemite and 8.02 and I cannot see my Mac as a "speakerphone" -- not sure where or how to activate this.
I'll admit, it's a fine idea...but it really should be optional.
The reason I'm seeking this is I might migrate to iCloud for all my needs, rather than google drive and Dropbox. Google gives you lots of space but their sync software sucks, and Dropbox doesn't give you much space for free.
My expectation is iCloud will work well as expected from apple and $1 a month is worth the 20gb, which is more than google and Dropbox combined, so I might as wel use it for everything.
The only reason it will not work is because of Bluetooth 4.0 support.
wish it was they focused on making their devices perfect than every year overhaul.
god forbid we go ONE year without anything new. would rather have a stable phone for an extra year than a 700$ device that only does 3/4 of what was promised.

When you get a call it rings on your iPad or Mac, then you pick it up on the iPad or Mac. I don't think you can switch to an iPad or Mac after taking the call on the phone.

Are you serious? Why would you want to have to pick up your phone to check something while you're already on your computer? So much more efficient this way, I am glad it's coming. We'll be saying: "wow, the old way was silly."
What are you on? Those were initial issues, they have been sorted out.i wish apple would just SLOW DOWN.
releasing features that arnt ready for primetime yet.
broken health app.
OS updates that disable features.
bugs galore.
TOO many hands in too many different areas.

iCloud drive??? yeah.
Like a couple of others said, I hope Apple finally fixes the landscape view of the music app. I don't much care for the artwork mosaic since I have hundreds of albums and sometimes hard to find the one I want. But the biggest issue is that if you are shuffling between songs on different albums, the view won't show what's currently playing.
If anyone knows of a workaround, I'm all ears! But I've searched and haven't found anything yet.
With the 6+ and the new landscape UI views, I was really hoping this would be fixed so I could use my Kenu vent clip and have my phone in landscape which will prevent my phone from covering a good chunk of my dash and I prefer to use GPS in landscape.
