What's going on with the stock in the United States!?

Agreed it is pretty difficult to get stock this opening morning in NYC i was about #50 in line and they said they had "some 6+ att 16gb in stock" and ran out by about the 15 people mark. Lots of people buying 2 of them (scalpers ><)as well.

I'm think Apple should have limited the launch to the U.S. for a month. The only downside to this is the scalpers, but they could easily limit one device per person per store to help.

I have not see it this crazy for the new model since the 4 was released.

Thanks to istocknow, I got my Plus. Great program and super easy to set up alerts.

There was actually a nice stock on Tuesday and Wednesday across the USA. Sold out super quick though.

This is nothing new. It was the same when the iPhone 5 came out. Just wait it out or order online.

FYI... Try Radio Shack!! I was stunned when I scored one there this morning.:D

Called my closest Radio Shack. Manager who answered said she only had a 6 SG 16. I told her I was looking for that but in a 64. She asked if she could call me back in 5 mins, she would try to locate me one. I swear not 5 mins later she called and found one at another store. She told me she would drive over and pick it up and I could be at the store later in the afternoon and she would sell it to me. I showed up at 2:45pm. Sure enough she had just gotten back about 5 minutes before me with the 6 SG 64!! She said her District Manager had called saying they had gotten a shipment in. I was in and out of the store in 20 mins!!!

Niicceee!

Almost two weeks have passed since the iPhone 6 Released in the states and the inventory in the apple stores just poor.
Europe inventory is updated every day and you can order almost any device, and any color without any problems.

The situation here in Florida is poor and annoying. How a huge company like Apple does not shipped iPhone to the stores !?T-mobile space gray is impossible to achieve!!
The only option here is to buy the Sprint iphone :/
pick-up in the apple web is always error in the payment :/

Just a disgrace! Instead of providing iPhones to Europe send to the States Too!! (T-mobile - Free contract!!)

My guess is that apple is supplying to other countries that have been waiting

It's not simply high demand. It's that mixed with low supply.

That is the problem with Apple trying to launch is so many markets at once. It is rarely done by other companies because dealing with the supply chain is extremely complicated. Overall, Apple does a pretty amazing job. But, these supply shortages are to be expected.

I've been calling around for over a week and can't find one. Starting to get mad as I wanted to do the $200 trade in on an iPhone 4...

It's not just online availability that's a joke, it's in-store stock as well.

I waited in line this morning at my local Apple Store; I was sixth in line. Turns out they had ZERO AT&T phones.

Same here. Luckily the guy came out about 30 seconds after I walked up.

I went to the Apple store for China and for a 16gb 6+ is 1 to 2 weeks shipping and the other two are 2 to 3 weeks shipping. That should tell you something.

long story short, they are not able to meet demand yet, I went to T-mobile store to get iPhone 6 & switch, out of 4 stores in the area, only 2 had anything, just a few 16GB 4.7", 1 (or more) store didn't even have 5s. iPhones are in high demand right now.

But I wonder what the backlash would be if Apple diverted more phones for the initial launch countries instead of releasing to new groups of countries in the following weeks?

I think it would exasperate the the problem as scalpers would flock to the countries with stock and buy all the phones up for resale.

Exactly, the gray market is a big problem in China, especially.

I think that's what is happening to a good amount of the U.S. stock. Scalpers are surely using iStockNow, too. As well as queuing up every AM.

I doubt it's a scalper issue. We don't seem to have much of a scalper problem here in Sacramento, and yet iPhone stock is still non-existent.

We have a scalper problem here in NC. Probably because we just don't have the volume of Apple stores that are in other areas, yet our population in the RTP area of NC has exploded over the past few years.

I do suspect a lot of this is just people buying phones, but if I was a scalper, you'd better believe I'd have stock alerts set up.

Which is why I have a love/hate thing with iStockNow, because before people started creating these sites, I always just went to the Apple store and plugged in what I wanted and where and I never struggled THIS hard to find an item IF there was any stock.

Granted, I got 2 iPhones on launch day (one preorder and the other bought at Best Buy) and I swapped one of those out for a 6+ later when I decided I wanted one, so it's not like I'm waiting for a phone for myself, but I need to play phone roulette over here very soon to give some 5C models to my inlaws who need phones and can't really afford to buy new models and/or go under 2-year contracts to use Next plan.

Aggravation! Here's to hoping that stock pops back up on Tuesday.

I've been wanting to exchange my 128gb 6+. I've went to the apple store early in the morning for the last week and they had no stock at all for verizon. tomorrow is my last day to do an exchange so hopefully my apple stores get something for verizon in so i can start another 14 days to be able to get the phone i want.

If people would buy the correct model the first time instead of swapping within 14 days over and over maybe the rest of us could get the ONE phone we would like to purchase. I understand if you buy it thinking it's what you want and finding out you don't like it. Fine. But buying a phone that you plan on returning really bugs me. I guess for :apple: it's not too bad because these phones are used for refurb white box replacement devices anyway.

I'm exchanging it for the fact that I needed a phone and all the was available was a 128gb plus. $100 is more important to me then an extra 64gb. theres a reason there's a 14 day return/EXCHANGE policy.

Depends where you are. It has been easy to get one with a couple days of launch where I am at
