4 Long Island, NY apple stores just got many iphone 6 plus 64gb SG and Silver stock with Verizon if anyone in the area needs to know. This is the first time I have seen a massive supply at all stores. May be gone soon;)

Yes, and how much of that is going to the US?

When you have 20 million Chinese preorders to fill very shortly, you're going to devote the bulk of your output there.

Quite likely so, especially if there are financial (tax) advantages to prioritize fulfilling offshore orders. As to what effect US vs offshore taxation policies might have on where Apple focuses their efforts, that's best reserved for a different MR forum, not here.

Another important question is how much supply is going to fulfill online / delivery orders in the US. Although there are a number of people with issues it seems at a quick glance that there's a steady flow occurring. What's the volume of those orders, does anyone have figures apart from the 10+M preorders?

I'd imagine store stock would be prioritized below fulfilling online orders, as that way they're satisfying the legitimate customers willing to wait rather than feeding supply to the scalpers showing up in-store with gift cards.

I agree with your justification for prioritizing online stock, but I think the opposite is true. They like to have stock in stores available to encourage people to come to the stores. I was told this by an Apple employee and it would explain why phones that are unavailable online for pick-up are often found by people going into stores at opportune times. Scalpers ruin things for legitimate buyers, but I don't think Apple is too interested in putting a stop to them. A sale is a sale and scalpers increase hype and demand for a limited product, all good for the company.

I was at the Apple Store tonight returning my silicone case and I saw a team of scalpers purchasing at least three dozen iPhones. Not sure of the exact model, but the employee was bringing and charging 4 iPhones at a time. I assume that was the limit per purchase now. They were all paying with their Amex.
