The only thing I can think of that would be as big as the notification center and multitasking is background downloading/updating. What else can they do?
I thought Apple was following Samsung

Everyone cares about that. If you don't drive yet, maybe not, but most people care.
It's not the A5. The iPhone, and every other phone, has a separate chip that controls the radio. The one they used in the new iPhone and in the Verizon iPhone 4 doesn't support selectively turning off 3G. On the bright side it makes production a lot easier since they only have to deal with one set of hardware that works on every carrier.They should have forced the new A5 chip to do this. As new generations of products are released you should only be adding to the already current list of features... not taking away from them.
It would be like if they brought out the 4S and said "Oh hey.... you know what? We took out the ability to copy/paste. Um... the processor couldn't handle it..."
Plus it would DEF save on battery life. 8 hours of talk time on 3G vs 14 hours on 2G/Edge...
Never used google nav but, in my experience, Waze is pretty good on the iPhone. Have you tried it? I've used others with limited success. Mapquest is just ok but voice kind of sucks on it and it is slow to redirect.
Waze is OK. It works well enough in the city, but I've had several instances where it gives weird or stupid directions where the maps app works better. The other problem is that it's crap in rural areas, especially in montana where I'm from. That, and it still leaves the GPS on after you close the app. You need to manually shut the thing down, it's very annoying.
Off the top of my head,
* free navigation
* NFC
* 4G LTE
* thinner form factor
* LED notification light
No one cares about that, there's enough free turn by turn apps. Most people don't would rather purchase a standalone gps system. I think the big iOS 6 feature will be Flash, or a innovative new keyboard design.
