Guys, what's the situation now for the new Reminders app for all those folk who are still running ios 13 with El Capitan? I know previously we were advised not to update Reminders or else we'd losing the ability to sync reminders with El Capitan. Is this still the case?

a stolen phone would already require authentication. What’s the use case for locking photos. You authenticate your phone and hand it to someone

Exactly. Where does it stop? Email doesn't require a separate authorization. Text messages don't require a separate authorization. And people are worried about random "sexy" pictures?

That's not going to change, ElCap isn't suddenly going to get an update to support the new features in Reminders. I'd lay long odds that Mojave won't. This will really condition whether I bother with iOS 13. I make heavy use of Reminders these days and I'm not about to install Catalina on anything I control before next year at the earliest.

Thanks mate. I'm in the same rubber dinghy as you. I'm inundated with reminders and the Reminders app is one of my most used. Alas, I'm still running a 2009 Mac pro and don't intend on changing it anytime soon.

If I go up to ios 13 BUT choose NOT to update just the Reminders app on my phone (I believe we are given this option), will Reminders still sync across all my ios devices?

Another iPad OS update and split screen still won’t work if you have folders in the dock. Still a ton of bugs that aren’t being addressed. This update is going to be a disaster when it goes public

Anyone else feel like it's soooooo much faster? And so so much less buggy?

I tried Beta 6 on my iPhone and found that a few crucial elements were too buggy to use on my daily driver and downgraded back to iOS 12.

The Exchange email syncing often wouldn't start on its own unless I opened Mail after turning on the phone. Reading or Deleting an email wouldn't register on the mail message list and the app had to be force quit and reopened to register the changes.

The touch ID checks that some apps do were broken so it seemed like the device was jailbroken. I don't know if these items are fixed on the latest beta, but I'm likely going to wait for a few more betas or until the gold master, since Exchange issues have historically been low on the priority list for Apple.

It did seem more responsive overall, though.

Have them fixed the system sounds showing up on hearing aids?
I’m running beta 5 and when I charge my phone type on the keyboard I can hear it all in my hearing aids.... which is killing my hearing aid batteries

Is Automations back for Shortcuts yet?

Edit: Nope, wtf.
They can keep it. Useless.

I’ve never been so disappointed to see an announced feature in practice as I was with Shortcuts automations. Massive letdown.

Blackmailing comes to my mind, plenty of people which don't want their personal (Read naked/sex) photo's on the net.
I've been blackmailed.

They didn't touch my phone.

No, it doesn't

Apple officially states on their website it does not sync from macOS to iOS

As someone with a multitude of iOS devices for home and work... it's the "to iOS" part that's the issue. iOS to iOS also doesn't work (grr.) man i hope they fix it eventually.

Yes they did a few versions a go. I just don't get the logic on why group it all together. I like to keep my albums (synced from my Mac) separate from whatever pics I took on my phone. In iOS 13, I can still see my albums individually, but if I want to see my camera roll, all album photos are grouped with whatever pics I took on my phone.

Right now, I am going through my photos on my iPad, and I want to do a cleanup of photos I don’t need. How do I know which are in my camera roll and which are in my Photostream? No point deleting them from my Photostream if they are still on my iPhone. I don’t understand this. Why can’t I have a list of what’s on my iPad like in prior versions? I no longer know what is where.

Public beta is available

Temp display now back on the accessory tile in the home app, better still it’s now moved to the bottom making it easier to read (was too small to read in circle at top since iOS 12 where they added the decimal place, in the last beta the temp display was removed).

A thought. Is is possible to keep the old reminders app on IOS 13 so it can sync with my iCloud /.Mac account? Or are those who use El Capitan stuck with ios 12?

To prevent someone who you show a photo to by handing your phone to them from swiping around too far and seeing your eggplant emoji pics.

Question though from the article: When viewing "All Photos" in the main Photos tab in iOS 13, Photosare displayed in a grid three across instead of the smaller thumbnails that were available before by default.

In this latest beta can you still just pinch two fingers to easily change the size of the thumbnails?
If you know you have pics of your eggplant salad don't hand your unlocked phone to someone with the photos app open? Or as they say "There's an app for that"
