Zagg screen protector. Lifetime warranty. I’ve never had to replace a single screen in the 14 years I’ve owned an iPhone.
Me too, and I never used any screen protector since iPhone 3G. That is until iPhone 14 Pro which somehow has the worst screen durability I have ever had.

Becoming accustomed to something doesn’t mean your initial reaction was “wrong”. Me having an adjustment period was an example, other people claim to notice zero difference between 60 and 120Hz, others claim to take hours and hours to adjust, others minutes.

You can no more claim someone calling the 60hz models “laggy” Is “wrong” than they could call you “wrong“ for calling the 120Hz models “smooth”.

The variable refresh rates with ProMotion mean you are regularly moving around iOS at a lot less than 120hz. The differences are frequently very subtle to none-at-all because iOS is intelligently saving battery. This is not an opinion. This is a fact.

I'm disagreeing with you describing the regular iPhones as appearing laggy due to 60hz. There's no doubting the ProMotion displays offer incredible smoothness, but the regular iPhone displays are really excellent - too.

I would agree. I used 120hz for a while and then went to 60hz for 3 generations, only to come back. I barely notice it.

Flexible screen. No thanks. And where is their ecosystem? Ah they have none. I though so.
When was the last time you traveled outside of Europe or North America?

There are more Huawai users in mainland china than Apple users on Earth…
You realize that right?
They have massive ecosystem.

They are not the best phones. But for the price and the market they are top notch.

While the iPhone 16 display also supports 1 nit minimum brightness, it does not have an always-on display or support for ProMotion.
Sounds to me like the 16 models would support always on display but they have blocked it with software.

I can’t understand why they don’t just push the dynamic island all the way to the top. What good is that sliver of display?

Cool story bro, nothing to do with that I said though.

Me having an adjustment period was an example, other people claim to notice zero difference between 60 and 120Hz, others claim to take hours and hours to adjust, others minutes.

Me explaining ProMotion variable refresh rates has nothing to do with you telling us about the differences you thought you were seeing with 60hz and 120hz displays?

It’s completely irrelevant because pro motion displays run at above 60Hz when actually interacting with the device. It doesn’t drop to 60 when scrolling around. It would only be running at 60hz if I had a 60fps video playing full screen or was playing a game that hadn’t been update to support higher than 60fps. I also notice when it drops to 60Hz when the device is running hot.

I can tell the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz with ease. All of this is completely beside the point that you are trying to police people’s opinions about how they personally perceive 60Hz displays as “wrong”.

Please try to stay on topic or I’ll assume you’re a troll trying to derail the conversation.

I could give a ****. Just make the screen more scratch resistant like my 12 and 13 Pro.

From 14 and 15 I get micro scratches from the phone being exposed to thin air I'm pretty sure.

Weirdly enough i got scratches on the 12 and 13, but none on the 15pro so far..

Exactly. They are made using almost a decades old technology.
“ fine tuned to be performant “

I’m happy they went out of their way so their supplier can make sure the display from 2016 works well.
Gee thanks apple.

I’ve been saying this since last year.
How many times can we buy the iPhone 12SSSSSSSS

No OLED display of that time was this bright.

Cheap Android phones don't have anything like the quality of the Super Retina XDR display. I'd take the regular iPhone display over anything Android running at 120hz with horrible image reproduction quality and colour accuracy.
Quit with these nonsense marketing terms like "Super Retina XDR" It is an OLED screen with variable refresh rate from Samsung or LG. Like every other phone out there.

You forgot to mention the color accuracy. And no, the display is not like every other phone out there. Samsung does make very good displays at the high-end, but they are not the same as the displays they manufacture to Apple's specs, requirements and exacting standards.

While people seem to want and celebrate thin bezels as they are nice to look at, I find the 15 pro to be too thin and impact usability. I constantly get false taps from just holding the device so scrolling becomes zooming, or apps randomly open. I suppose the solution would be to use a case, which then seems to defeat the purpose of the thin bezel in the first place. Hopefully the 16 does better in this regard, but I won’t hold my breath.
even with my 13pro on a case I get the same issue

It's a never before seen, jaw dropping display with gorgeous colors, industry first calibration, unbelieveable refresh rates, breakthrough durability, and phenomenal brightness. It's the best display we've ever created. We think you are going to possibly be pleased with it.
Or just say: we’ve been catching up with Samsung and now we’re selling their displays 🫢

I already have this issue with the thicker bezels of the 14 Pro because it's too big for me to one hand. Almost makes me want to try the Max next upgrade as I'd just default to two handing it. Thus contributing to the problem telling them no one wants smaller phones.

They should have at least changed the name of the screen on base models, what's the point of it being called Super Retina XDR OLED, HDR10, Dolby Vision when it looks laggy compared to a $100 120hz phone?

The contrast of 60Hz to 120hz is night and day eh? Reminds of when the iPhone 4 came out with the retina display, it ruined phone screens for me then, 120hz has ruined them again for me now.

My personal iPhone is a 14 Pro and my work iPhone is an 11. My eyes are too used to the smoothness of 120hz.

those phones are TANKS at this point, what about customers that want one hand use light iPhone? not everybody want an iPad in the pocket! Apple need to listen to the Japanise market and create a 5-5.5 inch iPhone.

Please tell me you can put an additional row of apps in this space, this is what interests me the most about these displays 🥲

We should of got a brighter screen and smaller cut out. Pixel 9 pro goes way brighter

...and they all come with PWM (pulse-width modulation) aka flickering (which causes eye-strain, headaches, and nausea) for no extra charge.
No efforts to improve the bad flickering indeed. My LCD iPhone 11 is getting too old and slow, I have ordered the new Bigme Hibreak e-ink phone, a bit raw but certainly usable with no eye-strain, I'll report in a dedicated thread when fully tested.
