I just had a brief moment where I wondered - when Steve Jobs goes home, what computer is sitting on his desk waiting for him?

Is he a desktop-at-home plus notebook-on-the-go kinda guy or a notebook + extra display at home kinda guy?

Does he always have the latest and greatest maxed out system, or is it likely that he's still plugging around on a G4 Cube just because they were pretty nifty?

I wonder...what Mac does Steve use?

(This is the point where everyone comes in and contributes their own theory.)

I bet he has a lot more than only 1 mac... probally has both a desktop and a laptop... I think he has an imac g5 and a powerbook 17"

He's got a home made AMD gamers PC. :p

:) Windows Vista?

When the iMac Rev.C was announced in October, I seem to recall him saying his family loved to watch DVD's on their iMacs.

I also recall thinking "well that's because you & yours probably get a nice discount isn't it mate!"

EDIT:

Oh dear.. not looking good! (what is it they say about millionaires being cheap?)

There were rumors when he first came back to Apple that he used a PC notebook running NeXtStep/OpenStep. However, I would assume now he uses some type of PowerBook. I'm sure his home is littered in Macs. I would guess his kids have iMacs and iBooks.

Desk? I always figured that his office was a darkened room with nothing but a big leather chair where he sat and laughed maniacally all day.

Sort of like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget?

My guess is on 2 things... first a completely maxed out 15" PB (now probably a MacBook Pro). I bet he also has a 500gb external FW HDD, a 30" ACD, a BT mouse and keyboard that he plugs into a pre-production machine at home. Maybe it's a new mini right now?

Oh, and an iPod video and a black 4gb nano, too!

Even though I am sure he still have has NeXt computer, I would assume he has some type of more recent computer. He needs to stay up-to-date with what his company is working on so he can suggest changes to the programs and such. I feel like steve is very connected to people all around the world as well as his work and has an iSight in his office to communicate with. I don't think Steve has the latest and greatest PowerMac as I don't see him running Pro Apps at home, if he needs to test something like that, I'm sure he goes to the department where they are developing and and uses it. I see Steve as a minimalist kind of guy and going with an high end iMac at home with some laptop, probably a 15"er.

To tell you the truth, I bet he has a 2.3GHz Dual Processor PowerMac G5 and a PowerBook G4 15" 1.67GHz (the last rev.). I dunno, that's just what I'm feeling.

Who's he married to?
Mrs. Jobs.

wasn't there a report, when he had surgery a few months ago, about him sending e mails to apple employees from his hospital bed using his 17" powerbook?

Laurene Powell Jobs. ;)

She is known for her work in the political arena for non-profits, specifically dealing with education.

Excellent memory! :D So yes, that's one system down. I bet his main home computer is an iMac G5, or possibly an Intel now. I bet he even has a Windows box lying around... you know, for laughing matters. :p

A PC with an Asus motherboard, at least for those you don't have to deal with burnt out logic boards... *s*******

Hes got a Macbook Pro that he lays in bed counting the million dollor downloads a day itunes does a day :) Then, when it hits 1 million plus he runs over and checks how many intel imacs he sold and then how many ipods were sold (okay, I made my 2+ million for the day, time to shut the old book down)

MuHaHaHaHaHa MuHaHaHaHa! ;)
