I think one company has a pumpkin spice essential oil for the falll season. The seasonal cinnamon broom showed up! The house (er, at least the downstairs kitchen/office/family room) smells amazing!
I very rarely eat food to enjoy. It’s just fuel.Well, I would rather eat something I enjoyed - so, even a fleeting snack (such as a cheese and salami sandwich) will be tasty and enjoyable to eat.
The trick with such snacks, is to use good quality ingredients - thus, proper cheese, and serious bread from a good bakery. If I eat a salad, it is with greens, or ingredients bought in the farmers' market.

However when you do eat something nice it makes a nice change.

I'm the exact opposite: I rarely eat food solely for fuel - I'd rather enjoy food and make some sort of occasion of the meal, especially if I am dining with others.
Agree. I just don’t eat out very often. I much prefer eating to cooking. The old saying is that some people live to eat while others eat to live...... I'm one who enjoys a nice meal with delicious and different foods, but am not that interested in preparing and cooking it! Left to my own devices at home I tend to think about dinner two minutes after I've realized I'm getting hungry, so then the process is to see what's in the fridge, freezer and pantry that can be quickly pulled together and popped into the microwave..... Since I live alone, eating at home does not create any big occasion, it's whatever is expeditious and satisfies my hunger. Eating out, whether alone or with friends, though, yes, is a pleasant and fun sociable occasion accentuated by a wonderful meal.

Back in my working days I ate out much more often than I do now; it was convenient to stop by a favorite restaurant on the way home from work and have dinner there, especially if I were tired after a busy day. Now I'm home and not going out to work everyday, so eat in a lot of the time. When I go over to the mall, which is again less frequently than in my younger days, unless I am in a real hurry and just need to rush in-and-out, I like to take my time, browse in some shops other than just the one in which I'm shopping for something specific, and then stop and have a meal in one of the many nice restaurants available there.
Sometimes whether at home or already in a mall or out-and-about, I'll get a hankering for some specific food or type of food and will go to one of the restaurants that I've enjoyed before or will try a new one. Occasionally friends and I will get together for lunch or dinner and that's always a fun time, too, regardless of the restaurant or type of food we're enjoying.
I wondered what Iberico Ham is and why I'd never heard of it -- well, turns out that for the most part it is illegal in the US unless it is processed in the US under FDA standards, so it is only available in specialty shops around this country and probably in some fine restaurants as well. Interesting.....! I don't eat much ham, bacon or pork products anyway -- just don't care for them and they don't agree with me sometimes -- so it's a moot point, but the mention of it did arouse my curiosity.
Very tasty is how I would describe it.To my palate, Iberico ham - Ramón Ibérico (made from a particular breed of pig - black Iberian pigs, papa negra - that have been allowed to forage for - and fed on - acorns) is even tastier than Parma ham, or Serrano ham, or Toscana ham.
There is a wonderful blend of sweet and salty, and these hams, (and their accompanying salamis) are the main reason why I would never become a vegetarian.

In Barcelona.You've had it?
A serious favourite of mine; and well, when I collect it tomorrow, I have been assured that as the error was theirs, this will be 'on the house'.
On at least four times this evening, that stupid spell check switched "Jamón" back to Ramón which is what the computer had convinced itself I wished to write.
In Barcelona.
My house sale and purchase is on my mind today. Looks like we have a new buyer. Hoping all is going to go through before the end of the year.
