Rained all the way home for my long drive home from London. Sadly my daughter was on my mind for a lot of the journey.
Horrid, here, too.

Hailstones, and quite utterly miserable.

I can well imagine that your daughter was on your mind today (as it happens, my mother was on mine).

Actually, I found myself thinking of Miss AFB this morning, wondering how she has been coping with Covid-19 and hoping that she is doing well.

At the very least, however, - if memory serves - you can celebrate your first anniversary of movie house around now.

It is indeed the first anniversary of our move. 12 months ago we had just moved from our nice warm comfy house to an almost derelict bungalow with no heating. That first night sat with our oil filled radiator and our coats on having lukewarm McDonald’s.
Now things are much more warm and comfortable here.

Yes, I remember how you wrote of that, as well.

But now, your "new" (or, no longer quite so new) house is beautifully done up, complete with underfloor heating, spacious grounds and plenty of privacy, and I daresay that it is at least as nice, and warm and cosy and comfortable as was the house you left behind.

Moreover, I'd be surprised if you both did not prefer it, now that everything has been completed (and you were exceptionally fortunate, that you managed to have all of the repairs, refurbishments and other necessary changes completed before Covid-19 - with its attendant restrictions - struck, not that it must have seemed that way, at the time.)

Warm and comfortable is very nice. You've worked hard for this.

Today is a good day for me. I had a phone consultation with a doctor who made me feel like a person, not a dollar sign. To me that is priceless. It's unfortunately rare.

It was a partner with my health insurance, so I didn't have to pay for it (Included with my premium), which made this call more amazing. I'm gonna enjoy this little bright moment.

Yes both happier here than the old place. But I feel like I’ve barely seen it of late!

Google Gmail free limit is 15GB. What are people storing so much in an email? I think my whole lifetime emails are like 23MB.

Is there new tech. way to use emails? Its usually is text and mostly people delete them unless they are work related. Even if they aren't work related you get rid of the images and attachments. I am starting to think people use them as free cloud storage, certainly more than iClouds free tier.

My parents asked me what I want for Christmas and in all seriousness I said a humidifier, because I’ve been getting nosebleeds lately. Is this what getting old feels like?

No. Getting old feels like pain in your hip when you get back from a walk. When the colder weather makes your knees hurt and you can’t stand the music and fashion that youngsters think is trendy.

Got soaked - horrid hailstone showers, and the sort of showers that transformed the meaning of the noun "shower", as they were sustained downpours - at the farmers' market today, and not really inclined to venture out again today.

Changed and enjoyed a scalding hot shower when I returned home.

So, showers, piping hot at home, and horrid hailstones, are on my mind.

Sunny here. Went out for a walk with Mrs AFB first thing, tweaked my fantasy team for the week and did a bit of gardening. Just filing up the brown bin with some of the stuff we cut down the other week.

I have some craft photos to do for Mrs AFB after lunch.

Well, the sun has emerged - that low-angled yet brassy, bright, light of winter, a sun without warmth, - but the clouds are a deep, dreary, threatening, charcoal grey, which tells me that more hailstones shall pay us a visit presently.

I had hoped to attend to some errands locally - such as purchasing some beer - but have to defer that for now.

Well sunny but not warm. Must be time for a tea.

And the charcoal sky erased the sun; spitting some bizarre hybrid between hailstones and nasty rain.

A tea sounds an excellent idea, perhaps even with a biscuit, chocolate, for preference; I had one yesterday evening.

This is also the season for hot chocolate, but my hot coffee (Costa Rica & El Salvador) has just gone down well.

Defiantly no biscuits. Had to much crap to eat whilst I've been away.

This is the time of year for biscuits; I never crave them any other time, but, from November to March, a filthy day will give inevitable rise to thoughts of biscuits with either tea or coffee.
Well cooked breakfast instead of porridge and rubbish restaurant food in the evenings has not helped my weight this last week or so. Wouldn't say I even enjoyed the food. It was just what was on offer.

Cooked breakfast (I assume bacon rashers, egg, sausages and perhaps tomato?) can be both wonderful, and very tasty, if the actual ingredients are of a good quality, but brutally bad, if the ingredients are merely mediocre.

It’s never my favourite. I like the idea of it more than the experience. But eating a big meal at 6:30 doesn’t really work with my metabolism.
But yes very mediocre ingredients in the hotels I stayed at.

When I first arose there was sunshine, but it quickly disappeared under a bunch of clouds, and apparently this will be going on much of the day: sunshine and shadow. Cold, too, but not bitterly so. That kind of weather we won't be seeing until January and February, traditionally our coldest and worst months.

End of the year coming up is on my mind, and beginning of a new, fresh year..... I've been rearranging files in my archival drives in preparation for wrapping up everything through the end of 2019 and starting 2020. I'd thought I'd be able to use the same drives to include the year 2020 as well, but the A7R IV's larger files put paid to that and a couple od months ago I realized that, oops, this isn't going to work. I could see that I would be running out of space before the end of the year. Got a couple new drives and reorganized things a bit, changing my strategy so that now one set of archival drives will be through 2019 and the next set will start with 2020, which of course will be wrapping up at the end of this month, and moving on with 2021, etc...... I've been spoiled by my external SSDs, which are so much faster than the older platter/spinner drives! This process would have gone a lot faster had I been able to use external SSDs, but I don't have any larger than 2 TB in capacity.

Now that colder weather is here I am really, really appreciating my lovely hot showers!!! SO glad I got that new hot water heater back in September!

Absolutely. Hot showers are a godsend. As the sun has gone in here the temperature has dropped significantly.

Mrs AFB photos were all done earlier. Two projects this week.

Football later. @JamesMike side are this weeks victims (hopefully!).
Then the F1 qualifying highlights.
