Agreed. The one thing you can’t do without!
Am most partial to my hot showers, and I have a considerable tolerance for heat.

At 36, I'm already there thanks to surgeries and ongoing health issues. I haven't been a fan of what people my age or younger consider trendy for as long as I can remember. Though the music I grew up with is now playing on oldies stations, hearing them in a grocery store is a bit amusing.No. Getting old feels like pain in your hip when you get back from a walk. When the colder weather makes your knees hurt and you can’t stand the music and fashion that youngsters think is trendy.
Sounds like my hotel room Thursday. The people in the next room got back to their room at 1:30 and were very loud. When I got up at 6, I wasn’t very quiet! At 36, I'm already there thanks to surgeries and ongoing health issues. Ah. My upstairs neighbors said they may be moving soon. Part of me is ecstatic but the other dreads if we end up with worse above us. The current ones have a child who runs around all day, two dogs, they like slamming doors, and they walk very heavy. Yet I know with certainty that there is worse.

Noise revenge. It's quite passive aggressive but I have to admit I've done it a time or two after they've kept me up for days at a time.Sounds like my hotel room Thursday. The people in the next room got back to their room at 1:30 and were very loud. When I got up at 6, I wasn’t very quiet!
Fact. People who play loud music always have bad taste in music!Noise revenge. It's quite passive aggressive but I have to admit I've done it a time or two after they've kept me up for days at a time.
My biggest worry is that the next neighbor will be one of those youngsters who has a stereo/TV system made for a house but uses it in a 1 bedroom apartment.
It's not fun being forced to hear what they are watching or listening to. Especially when it's got an obscene amount of bass.
I’d been up since 5 and it was my 11th day (some of which were 12 hour plus days) at work in a row.So... "Revenge is a dish best served before dawn."

First few steps after sitting for a while is when my hip hurts.Oh, gosh yes.
My knees ache sometimes - by the end of the day when climbing stairs - in this weather, and yes, hip stuff at the end of a walk, or when standing cooking for four hours....
And yes, apart from some of the excellent music from the 80s, I've never been much in tune with what youngsters considered trendy or popular.
First few steps after sitting for a while is when my hip hurts.
Knees aren’t too bad. Mrs AFB suffers more. One of the reasons we chose a bungalow rather than a house.
Well your younger today then you ever will be again. In other words we are all on the downward curve!First steps after sitting for a while, oh gosh, yes.
And, these days, my knees, feet, hips, etc are all gloriously relaxed when I first leave my bed, but then, as the day progresses, things change. And not for the better.
Well your younger today then you ever will be again. In other words we are all on the downward curve!
I've never been against masks either. Truth is I've worn them during flu season for about 5 years already. My opinion on these things don't sit well with my fellow conservatives but I prefer to think for myself. Always have. A popular opinion doesn't necessarily mean it's the right one.Exactly.....each individual has to make the decision for himself or herself about whether/when they will take the vaccine. To me it's a no-brainer but I can all-too-easily imagine that for some folks just like wearing a mask, it's yet another thing against which to protest...... And then they wonder why they or their family members wind up in the hospital with COVID-19?
One of my issues is the scoliosis in my neck. That and my leg length difference went untreated for years so the damage is already done. It will just get steadily worse. I have exercises to do, but don’t do them often enough.Sheesh, and none of you guys are anywhere near the 70's yet!!!! Actually, for me what has been most bothersome is my eyes aging...... Since I really rely on them, having my visual acuity changing over the years has been very disturbing. To me, since I am already hearing-impaired, losing my vision altogether would be a real nightmare.
The hearing impairment thing is something I've had since birth so it's not a big deal to me and actually I find it rather advantageous at times when living in a multifamily (condominium) dwelling, the way that I have been for over 25 years and still am currently doing. Unless the guy who lives above me were to stomp violently on the floor or drop something heavy that makes a loud sound, I am pretty oblivious to a lot of the everyday sounds since I often go around home without bothering to use my hearing aids. His dog barks, no problem (I do hear it when I'm wearing my aids, of course).
I'm much more sensitive to odors and am not appreciative when I smell cigarette smoke from another unit or some weird concoction (what IS that smell? It's not pleasant!) Most mealtime scents are rather aromatic and one wonders, wow, what are they going to be enjoying, as it smells great! One scent I absolutely detest is dryer sheets or other products of that ilk, which usually is sickly-sweet and pollutes the air everywhere when someone does a load or two of laundry and puts their clothing into the dryer with these products...... Why would anyone want their clothes to smell like that???!!!!
Back to the aging thing: when I was in my forties I sustained a herniated lumbar spine disc and had surgery for that, but still have residual reminders from that, which have shown up more and more frequently as I continue to age. Nerve damage which was done at the time of that initial occurrence never was able to fully recover, so there's the occasional twinge and reminder of that horrible sciatic pain or the more-and-more frequent realization of numbness in some of the toes of the left foot. At least right now this doesn't interfere with walking or other activities in any way, thankfully. Occasionally I do have cramping in the night or early morning, which IS uncomfortable, of course, but again is quickly resolved.
No problem here with knees, never have experienced that. Probably because I've never been overweight and also have never participated in the kinds of physical activities which really do take a toll on knees. I do occasionally get pain in my left ankle, which had sustained several serious sprains throughout my life and which my doctor explained now has arthritis. OK, I can deal with that.....
So you guys who are still in your 40's and already experiencing issues with your health and well-being.....there's worse ahead if you're not mindful of taking care of yourself now, and even if you ARE mindful, the aging process is still going to catch up with you anyway as you enter the era of your 50s and the 60s....but most notably, it seems to be the 70s when everything really does seem to happen and remind you of your actual age....
Exactly! By the time I get to have it half the population will have had it already. They will be doing key workers and older and vulnerable people first. So by the time it’s available to me I’ll be there like a shot.I said I'm gonna take the vaccine on Twitter and holy jenkies, some people go overboard. I'm gonna be sterilized (I've had a hysterectomy), I'll have my DNA modified, I won't be myself anymore and my personality will change (Might not be a bad thing)...
I don't tell people that they should. My body, my choice.
Again agree. One of the things I think might come out of COVID is people wearing masks more often on public transport etc like they do in Asia.I've never been against masks either. Whilst Mrs AFB prepares dinner I thought I’d jump on my MacBook Air to do a bit of work. Couldn’t access a shared drive. So restart has prompted a 28 minute upgrade.
I miss the good old Apple days when it just worked.
I've definitely noticed this. Masks on the ground. I've seen them in bushes and trees. I imagine there are a ton in bodies of water. The sheer amount of littering with these masks is infuriating. I throw my trash into a bin or in my purse until I can find a bin. Too many people here just drop it wherever.Again agree. The only thing I don’t like about masks are the disposable ones. The environmental impact is not great.
Agree. People who throw rubbish really wind me up.I've definitely noticed this. Masks on the ground. I've seen them in bushes and trees. I imagine there are a ton in bodies of water.
