I seriously love what you do. Your ability to put a smile on people is a gift to all humanity.
@AngerDanger What @yaxomoxay said. You’ve brought much needed laughs to me when I needed them. Thank you for your sense of humor.

And 😂 Twitter controversy.

Job interview: Made it through interview part 1 with flying colors. I am sure this Monday’s part 2 interview will go quite well too. I see myself doing very well at this outsourcing company.

Hope everyone is okay and having a great weekend.

@Clix Pix thanks as always for the encouragement.

I decided to switch to a sulfate, paraben, silicone free shampoo and conditioner. It's got only natural fragrance as well. It's day one and so far so good. I will see how it works out in the long run. I went with a company called Formulate because they are the only ones without 2 billion ads on Facebook.

That’s great news. Hope not only the interview goes well, but the job is a good one for you with good prospects.
I interviewed three people on Friday. None of them made the grade despite doing well in the telephone interview.

I’m starting to think how the Earth got’s it’s water early on! During the formation as shown in other solar systems, Neptune and Uranus change places the comet Cloud was larger! Neptune through the changing plowed into The Oort cloud and sent comets in and out the solar system. In the late bombardment the earth got most of it’s water from that episode!

If Dr Who was real that would surely be something I'd ask to see. It would probably end up with some inane encounter with aliens. Seriously though what an amazing and awesome sight this and other huge celestial or earthly events must have been. I imagine all literary accounts of hell would not come close to the Siberian Traps for example.

Well I am thinking of possibly buying an M chip iMac today, depends on specs, price etc. but I’d sell my M1 MBP if I do (I am more of a desktop person and bought the MBP out of urgent need late last year. Of course my situation did a 360, but there you go...)

Definitely in the market for an iPad Mini with pencil 2 capabilities though. So I will tune into this event today.

Job interview front: Part 2 of the job interview went well yesterday. 🥳 I will have at least one more interview with the hiring manager... at some point. It may be this week, it may not be for weeks or longer. This outsourcing company has to have clients in place to go forward (they are getting nibbles now.) My good feelings about this job are still there. 🙂

Hope everyone is okay.

I"ll be following today's Spring Loaded Event, too. I always do, even when I am not in the market for anything that will be shown and offered..... I love my 13" M1 MBP and have no plans to trade her in on an iMac. I'm waiting for the (probably) Autumn announcement and release of the more powerful MBPs with the M1X (or whatever it'll be called) processor, ability to have 32 or more GB RAM, four Thunderbolt 4 ports, etc. That'll be when I trade in my 2018 15" MBP (shhh, don't tell her!) and will use the new machine as a desktop replacement, plugged into my 24" LG 4K display, which works really nicely for editing photo images and doing other things. I much prefer the versatility and portability of the MBP to an iMac, and have since back in 2015 when I went with a 2015 15" MBP and really liked the setup.

My strong hunch is that the iMacs which may or may not be introduced today are going to be based on the baseline Intel iMacs that Apple has offered for the past several years, the ones with only two Thunderbolt ports, the dog-slow HDD, etc. They probably have redesigned the casing (thinned down those bezels and executed major surgery on the "chin" plus came up with the pastel colors along with the standard silver and Space grey) and then stuck a 24" retina screen in there, the M1 chip and so on..... Just my guess, of course. Starting out with the baseline and then next time around is when they'll come up with a larger screen (30"? 32"?) and more powerful processor, etc., etc. Who knows, those might be introduced at the same time the upgraded MBPs are. All speculation on my part of course.....

Normally I'd be interested in a new iPad or two, but this year I've got my eyes, heart and mind fixated on a Sony A1 camera and so will just stick with my current iPad 12.9" and iPad Mini 5, both of which are doing just fine.....

Well honestly, all my stuff is working well. Most likely I will keep Big Sur on my current iMac until such a time as I upgrade it, my ATV4 is fine as well. I am tempted by the 12 Pro series because of the greatly improved camera mainly but my current financial situation is not really conducive to an upgrade. My iPhone 7 plus is still ticking along though I may just get a battery change in the near future. I tend to follow these events for whatever is new in the upcoming OSes.

Very well done on your (doubtless well deserved) success in Round 1, and the very best of luck to you when you face Part 2 of the interview process.

Good news. iMac and new iPad? Hope the new job pays well.

It was all very exciting until I saw there was no 3.5mm jack on either of them. :p So I'm thinking of getting the current iMac to replace the late 2011 I'm using now.

Nevermind, someone just pointed out in another thread that it was on the left side of the machine. Cool. Going to get one in silver then.

Hmmm... very good point. Now that I came up for air, I‘ll wait for the more powerful iMacs to come out instead. I’d rather have a desktop Mac with a more powerful chip than in the M1 MBP and iPad Pro. It’s a bit ridiculous to have the same tech across three machines... and I hope the larger iMacs have some of these colors too. I probably will buy an iPad Pro since my 7th gen iPad is on its last legs.

@Apple fanboy Oh, the job will pay well.

@Scepticalscribe Not sure how many more rounds there are, but I am confident I will ace these too and land the job. I know I have at least one more interview with the Hiring Manager, but I like the two folks I talked so far to and they liked me.

@AngerDanger hope you’re less stressed now that the event is over.

And hope everyone is good.

Well, I pretty much called that shot, that there would be the new iMac offering based on the baseline 21.5" Intel machines, essentially..... They just thinned things down, enlarged the screen, put pretty colors on the back (ooh, I DO like that orange!!!) and as I had predicted, offer only two Thunderbolt 4 ports along with two legacy USB 3 ports.
I looked at the specs after the event and as I had thought, too, the machines can be configured up to 1 TB SSD and 16 GB RAM only, like the other M1 computers: the Mini, the MBA and MBA.

For various reasons the other offerings today didn't interest or excite me, although that 12.9" iPad is gorgeous and I can see how a lot of people would absolutely love it. It would be wasted on me since I don't play games and rarely watch videos or movies on the one I have now, etc., and I don't edit my images on my 12.9" iPad either. I'm no artist and although I do have an Apple Pencil most of the time I just wind up using my finger anyway.

Yes, you called it. And the specs are way too low in this iMac for me to buy another Mac so soon.

I do love to draw using the Pencil and iPad, and also do a lot of reading and watching movies etc. on the iPad, that’s first since my 7th gen iPad is going bye-bye. I did not think I’d buy another iPad Pro, but it makes sense to wait on the Macs (Also considering we will hopefully move at some point this year.)

Yes, the orange is nice. If they make the larger iMac in this same Green or Yellow though, I will buy one of those.

All the colors are so pretty, aren't they? Not that sickly pastel, either, but nice, strong, vibrant colors! Something for almost everyone!

Yes, the specs on this new 24" iMac are definitely not what I need, either, and I'm willing to wait a while longer, enjoying my 2018 Intel 15" MBP and my 2020 M1 13" MBP in the meantime. That said, I suspect that these colorful new 24" M1 iMacs will go flying off the shelves, as they will appeal to many people.

I'm trying to decide which new iPad to buy. I've decided on the 12.9 but what configuration I do not know. I usually get the 256GB WiFi and Cellular models but over the years have rarely used the cellular and my current iPad storage stands at around 80GB (used) so the 128GB WiFi only model would seem the one for me. However......

Still deciding. Have created a thread here for anyone interested;
