I'd love to try an Apple computer but the truth is I rarely use my current 8 year old laptop, so the price seems even more exorbitant. I still haven't moved from my 11 Pro Max and I like my Android better.

Where did the warm weather go is on my mind! Last few days were lovely. Today not so much.
I know! Finally went "out" for a meal and it was bloody freezing! Had to go back to my car and put a fleece on, under my coat and also wear my gloves!

Out? Out are you mad! ;)
I don’t go out for meals before Covid. I’ll not be trying to book a table anytime soon.

Yes, while it was quite pleasant earlier (it is late April, after all, but still only April, - hence, pullover, and sometimes, overcoats still required - not high summer), it is cold tonight, and my electric blanket will greet me when I finally head to bed.

Poor customer service is on my mind. 11 days after receiving my damaged curtain pole I'm still trying to get a replacement sent out from John Lewis.

For those outside of the UK, John Lewis used to be a premium department store that prides itself on customer service. Clearly they have moved well away from that model.

After countless emails backwards and forwards they told me when I phoned them yesterday that a replacement would be shipped out in the next 24 hours. However today I receive an email telling me how sorry they are I received a damaged product and if I could send them a photo they will sort it! So today I resent them the two photos they had in the original online case! I also called up and was told although customer service was open until 9, that department wasn't so they couldn't help me. That was the second guy I spoke to. The first one hung up on me when I said I wanted to make a complaint.

To clarify they have had the item in stock all the way along!

Different places have different indicators for the change of seasons -- Rainbow Lorikeets squabbling over the Spring Bottlebrush blossoms, your cat deciding to stay in all night because it's cold, etc.

In our house, it's the sheets. Winter is heralded by changing the sheets from cotton to flannelette.

Yep on that last one... and flannel sheets are still in the rotation here. This April has been an amazing rollercoaster ride in the Catskills. It was 23 degrees at sunrise this morning, still only 41ºF coming up on lunchtime and will struggle to reach the forecast 50, I suspect. Add a brisk northwest wind and the only place those flannel sheets are headed the next laundry day is back on the bed again, under two quilts and a comforter.

This beautiful New England spring day

Yeah, I feel like New England springs always fluctuate quickly between two extremes, but I'm still surprised each year.

Here's the view outside my window today vs. yesterday:

Well our weather has taken a tiurn for the better. I actually had my first beer on a terrace yesterday in I don't know how long accompanied by a pizza (from a kebab place of all things it was good and cheap and the Italian place across was full). Beer was only a can of Efes (Turkish) but it was soooo good and I had two close friends with me.

Ah, wonderful; what a terrific selection of wines - I could almost envy you.

Actually, I do envy you; enjoy.

Agreed; one of my favourite wines, as well, though I prefer white Burgundies.
