Stressful events tend to pile up. Like they say, when it rains it pours. I hope you get some relief from such things soon.
I'm doing okay today, that's amazing in and of itself. I'm a little worried over getting to these appointments as they'll likely be once or twice a week and my husband works from 3PM to 3AM plus he has another job. I can't always drive myself if my pain is too high. I would be unfocused.
Edit: If you ever need to vent, my messages are always open. You've always been very kind and supportive of me. Even when my negativity is practically toxic.
How far is it from home? Could you uber it? Hope you can work something out.

I wish mom was better, still the same amount of pain. 🥺 We’re looking into a home Covid shot for her. I’ll probably have to get the vaccine from a local pharmacy.
Job interview update: Mad dash to find a third professional reference (a direct manager). Thankfully, everyone agreed and I have references from three different jobs, including the 2020 one. There are more interviews coming, because I am still due to talk with the hiring manager.
I hope everyone else is okay.

We are all in the same boat. Well most of us are anyway so I understand how you feel.
Feeling pretty low considering it’s the start of a three day weekend.
I had the guy who was due to start Tuesday change his mind today. So I’m back to square one on the recruitment.
So god knows how many hours I’ll be working next week on top of the standard 50.

Life really does. Really had enough at the moment. The constant grind of too much to do and things not given the time they need. I was supposed to be on a call some friends tonight but felt to miserable to bother so just bailed. Now I’m trying to decide if I should go do some more work or just find a rock to crawl under.
DO NOT DO ANY WORK! Shut down the work computer, shift gears, try to relax and decompress this evening.....

I have found out that stress affects the immune system. It happens to me. And it scares me it might give me a disease one way or another. The healthiest of us can get cancer.
Generally, cancer rates are highest in countries whose populations have the highest life expectancy, education level, and standard of living.
You need to be careful how you interpret things like this.
In less developed countries you are more likely to die of infectious diseases like malaria, TB, measles and the like, as well as complications from accidents, and such like. Dying from cancer has to compete with all those other causes of mortality. Mostly you die of something else before cancer can kill you.
In more developed countries, those diseases are reduced or eliminated, or can be cured quickly and easily. Cancer, heart disease and old age are what's left to kill you.
Stress does effect and can weaken you. You might not be able to eliminate stress, but you can mitigate its effects on you. Going for a walk, playing with children and animals, meditating, writing a journal, beating the whatever out of a poor defenceless punching bag, even simple breathing exercises, whatever floats your boat.

We've had an interesting two days: a customer at the health food store my mom worked at started a rumor that she passed away 😡 both at a competitor's store and Facebook 😡; so mom, myself and another customer are dealing with damage control. Mom set one obnoxious former client straight today by answering the call with a very sharp "I'm NOT dead". Amen to that. I do wish mom was getting some pain relief though. We're trying a lot of things.
Glad I cancelled my 2021 iPad Pro order. I'll wait for sales since my Air is still chugging along (and more importantly, mom doesn't want it.) I was a little bummed letting those colorful iMacs go...It's fine. I'll wait for the larger iMac later this year.
Argh neighbors: Sadly, the awful dog whining and barking is off the cuff again. Thankfully, the pot stench has dialed back a bit.
Thinking good things about this potential job, and staying positive about going forward with the first Covid vaccine dose tomorrow.

I love the idea of your mother answering "I'm NOT dead" sharply; reminds me of the wonderful placard - which read "I ain't dead" - that Granny Weatherwax (one of my favourite female characters in all fiction) used to clutch when she went "borrowing" the minds of creatures while busily saving the world.

Weird to start a rumour that your mother had died. I don’t really understand social media as I’m not in it and I feel that’s the correct choice for me.
