How weather can change so fast. Two hours ago I was swimming in the sea and enjoying sun and 30 degrees. One hour ago there was a substantial thunderstorm with lightning and very heavy rain and wind. Fortunately I made it home on foot before the deluge.
Where are you at again?

Last post from me about this past week's Biden-Putin summit, a youtube channel I follow called GVA spotter regularly films the comings and goings at the Geneva airport including diplomatic, private (think those used by Gulf monarchs or Russian oligarchs) etc.

So here is Air Force One landing this past Tuesday (skip to 1:42).

A few years ago a friend of mine went to Dallas Love Field to snap a picture of the AF1... he was quickly surrounded by Secret Service agents.

What's on my mind? "Mallet Finger", that's what. Yesterday my middle finger on my dominant hand "drooped". Have what's called "Mallet Finger" and have to wear a splint for 6 weeks. Never heard of it before. Not painful at all but makes things a little difficult. I can type OK but writing is v awkward as it affects how the pen is held. I'm someone who writes every day so this will be the biggest inconvenience. I can however still hold my wine glass and whiskey tumbler so it's not the end of the world!

When you wrote mallet finger I assumed you had hit it with a mallet! Could be worse. Friend of mine builds and fly radio controlled petrol planes. About two weeks ago he decided to stick three of his fingers in the propeller. Not a pretty site! He's been flying them for 20+ years.

I'd been away with the gf for a weekend (Halifax and Harrogate (both lovely)) and had just got home. Picked my iPhone up and "droop". Was quite funny actually but then when googled it says seek medical attention as soon as possible so phoned 111 yesterday and got an appointment at A&E. Had an X-ray and was in and out within an hour. It's just amazing how much we depend on each digit. Try, for an hour not using one and you'll see.

Harrogate is indeed lovely. Not been for years, but I recall it being pretty. Never been to Halifax.

I assumed something similar. At one stage I had Gas Cylinder Toe. I managed to drop a full 9kg gas cylinder on my big toe (9kg gas +10kg cylinder). It smashed/mashed the end bone of my big toe. Couldn't strap it or put a cast on it. Just had to wait until it healed.

A long time ago, in a different century I had a Vertebrate Zoology lecturer who had Spade Fingers. They were long, and wide, and flattened at the end, and just looked incredibly clumsy. However watching him do delicate dissections was an education in itself about not making assumptions based on appearances.
