Monterey disrupted/ended my Vipassana course.
I got logged out from the site and when I logged in the course was over. But it restarts once every month it seems, if I want to follow his daily recommendations, and have his 2 hrs YouTube silent meditations with some ocean sounds in the background.
I didn’t follow his time plan anyway, as I wanted to follow my on inner guidance, which seemed to be one step ahead of his recommendations many times. I felt I need to take up my yoga practice, and he mentioned it a bit later, if you have a yoga practice, you can continue with that now. And so on…

All the daily therory files of the whole Vipassana course are uploaded on my meditation app (and probably elsewhere, as he made it free) anyway.
So I am just continuing on my own as earlier, just a bit more that way.

I am really happy that I found his teaching of Vipassana. It’s a lot closer to my initial yoga/meditation training from Bihar School Of Yoga tradition that I started with at 26, then any of the Vipassana teachings of various teachers I’ve come in contact with earlier.
Probably because it is a deep and very focused meditation practice. And body/mind are very interlaced.
I love the course, and recommends it. ???‍♀️??

Now I have a 21-days Ashtanga challenge coming up with Kino 1 November - wonderful, it will sharpen that practice too ??

Why didn't MiniDisc take off in the US?
They never realized their untapped feline market.

So in other words, you’re bored and desire more interesting and challenging work?
Otherwise, if your current position isn’t returning value why is the company filling it?

Hmm, that breakdown seems a little harsh. Am not some Gen Y or Z, that does not understand how a business works, and what is expected of me and my role.

However, part of my role, IT, is to help further develop processes and procedures. In trying to do so, the business is stuck in the 'family' business mentality, and don't strive to develop on all fronts. Yet, scream that they need to develop and grow.

So, in short, my efforts are falling on 'deaf ears'. Hence, my feelings...

Reality is harsh.

Since it’s a contract job - IT at that - you’re not tied to it and there’s lots of opportunities. Since they are not taking your professional advice perhaps it means they feel the fit isn’t good either. You’re smart to be looking for a new contract. Otherwise meet with your supervisor and hash it out.

Very happy to see the sun today after days of rain. Puts me in the mindset to get a lot of errands done.

I don’t understand what is meant by touche.

"Touché" derives from the French language, and originally was used in fencing (with swords). The word literally means "touched" as in when you touch, or land a light hit on (but still successfully "touch") your opponent with your sword.

In this context, it means 'good point', but good point in the context of a reply (for "touché" is always used in the context of a response) that adds a slight bite, or edge, to what has already been said, or makes a good, or clever, point that may be uncomfortable to have to acknowledge, and/or is at your expense, and, thus, when you comment "touché", you have (often ruefully) acknowledged this.

I’m well aware of the strict definition so thank you.
Words are commonly bastardized and misused so I ask a person for clarification where necessary. S/he did so and I am grateful.

Don't you guys have inbuilt dictionary in your devices....

How hard can it be, mark the word, press dictionary (or whatever word you US/UK folks have for it in your devices) voilà - fast magic ?

I've experienced the same thing in my IT career. Sometimes projects and priorities come and go, with some emphasized and others deemphasized leaving some lag time. Often depends on the mood and sudden changes of sr. management.

I'd have a chat with the project or area management to see what the long range plans are and what roles are anticipated. This, before making any major changes.

Flipping spot on! Thanks for sharing...

It's such a lovely Sunday morning. Coolish, light breeze, sunny. The ideal Spring Sunday morning.

I was thinking of attacking the climbing rose, which means getting up on the ladder, with protective goggles, leather gloves, secateurs, the lot. But no, buggrit. It's too nice a morning to spend swearing at a plant.

Speaking of climbing rose, it's more of an invading rose. It has gotten up under the roof, wrapped itself around the gutters, and generally taken over. I'm thinking of naming it Norman. After the Norman Invasion...
