Well saw the replays of Skate Canada in my old hometown of Vancouver. Well done to all participants and wow what amazing performances by the gold medalists Nathan Chen and Kamila Valieva, the latter who is on ly 15 years old! Mind you the last Olympic gold medalist, Alina Zagitova was also 15 at the time, women's single seems to favour the younger lighter girls. That makes silver Elizeveta Tuktamysheva's second place all the most incredible as she is almost 25 which is old for figure skating. The pairs gold, Wenjing Sui and Cong Han were amazing, I haven't caught any of the ice dance so can't comment on that yet. Pairs can be scary as well

In the US we have another week to enjoy Daylight Savings Time -- and then we, too, will be turning back the clocks.....

It is probably the single most depressing time of the year for me, for the week-end the clocks go back always brings to mind that it will be late February before (and that means four full months of darkness and winter) before the length of the day, and the quality of light in that day even begin to resemble what we have had this week-end.

Agreed. Left for work it was barely light. Left for home and it was dark.
November is my least favourite month. Closely followed by December. Roll on January.

As the saying goes up here in the north: winter is the price we pay for the other three beautiful--and sometimes perfect--seasons. I look at winter too as more time to cozy down inside comforters and quilts with a good book/movie/game, a time for that second cup of coffee with a neighbor, and how a lifetime of waiting each year for the first snow and those much-too-early sunsets catching the ice in the trees still holds some magic.

February is my least favorite month, both because that seems to be when we have our worst weather in the DC area, and also because there were deaths of three beloved people in my family which all occurred in February (different years). I am always glad when March arrives, as it holds the promise of nicer weather and the hints of Spring on the way.....

The first flowers coming out (snow drops and crocuses from memory) along with the longer days will be a welcome sight.
Can we just fast forward until then?

An enthusiastic, passionate and heartfelt "amen" to this idea (or dream).

Roll on, the first flowers of the new season, such as snowdrops, crocuses, and - my absolute favorite of all - daffodils.....

That I am pleased with my new bought bra’s :)

Shopping bra’s, can be a mess, especially when the old ones have lasted a while, and shopping online. Sizes can differ widely. But I've ended up with 6 new ones that I am satisfied with. 4 is totally awesome. With not so much hassle that I had expected. The majority of them, are sport bras.

But I am really surprised that a big company such as Nike had such awful website/shopping site at 2018 and lack of technological knowledge/support. Have had a lot of Nike sportswear, this time I bought zero from them.
I cannot think of any reply to this that would work.

We have a frost possibility for tomorrow morning, while the suburbs further out have an actual frost warning. This is the first really chilly weather we've experienced and the dreary all-day rain hasn't helped much. Turned the heat on for the first time this season and it feels good; until now, throughout October it's been warm enough that I've had windows open and such, or more recently was able to still keep the house comfortable with windows closed, but today's distinctly cold mid-40's temperature outdoors and only mid-60's indoors was definitely signaling that it was time to make the big switch in the HVAC unit from A/C to Heat. Now I'm warm and cozy!

Took in all the tropical plants today , dug up the caladiums for winter storage . Can't let my mandarin tree freeze!

Yes, please! That would be great!

We are there, already. The sun is getting up earlier, and going to bed later.
Kitty's (<-- see left) tummy time always ratchets forward an hour with daylight saving, but never goes back. Soon she will be having dinner for breakfast...

Also waking up are the aphids (killed our nectarine crop already) and the flying foxes eyeing off the nectarines that the aphids have left.

I had to look up flying foxes. My word, they're huge!

Some are smallish (handful size), some are big.
When flying they sound like wet sheets flapping in the wind.

They roost in trees by the hundred -- https://duckduckgo.com/?q=flying+fox+roosting+in+tree&t=braveed&iax=images&ia=images

They are also called fruit bats, because that's what they eat.
