Ahh winter is coming. At least we have had sunny if chilly weather. I managed a longish bike ride in the Geneva countryside yesterday passing some horse ranches and heading into trails in a forest where folks where gathering mushrooms (the edible kind). As the sun is so low and as the sun set whilst heading back I saw the Alps and especially Mt. Blanc bathed in the setting sunlight. No camera, least of all my otherwise decent 7 Plus, could do that justice. It makes me very emotional. Soon though will be hiking and possibly snowshoeing - might as well make the most of months I normally like the least.

It is likely that our oldest cat has died. He left last week for his daily outdoor activity and hasn't come back since, which is very unusual for him. 16yo and he had a good life. Still hoping he comes back, but I find it unlikely.

Did he come back ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for asking. Sadly, not. Considering that we had bad weather, rainstorms, and cold temps, at this point I am now sure that he is in Cat Heaven, with infinite food, several toys, and lots of time to sleep in the most comfortable places ever. We do miss him, and sometimes it seems that the youngest of our (now four) cats is on the look for him to play (= frustrate the older cat).

I recall reading (and cousins - and neighbours - who are cat owners have also mentioned this to me) that cats sometimes leave their home when they think that they are about to die.

Commiserations; it is never easy to lose a family member, irrespective of whether it is a person or a well loved and much cherished pet.

I heard the same thing, and it's possible that there is some truth there. In my life I had about 20 cats (including those with me now), and the Lord knows how many "neighborhood" cats that liked to be around us. I can think of at least three or even four that were very old and once they got very sick, they suddenly and uncharacteristically left.

Thank you, truly appreciated. My kids didn't take it well since he was their first pet.

Next in line - and therefore heir to the entire household and true leader of the house - is my 14yo cat. She's incredibly fluffy and I believe her reign will resonate in time.

Having a Cappuccino and listen to 'Ode to Freedom' of ABBA - one of my favs on their album, quietly mighty!
Hoping for some energizing Ashtanga later.
Have been some sick here lately so the yoga challenge have not been very successful in sense of much practice. But Ashtanga are not seldom bordered with some releasing sickness, so I am used to the opposite of its vigorous practice as well. Meditation however are developing beyond expectations. With some 'help' from a very disturbing person. But Marcus Aurelius quote:
"You don’t have to turn this into something. It doesn’t have to upset you." is a good one.

Got my Covid booster shot yesterday and, although I haven't had Covid, today my sense of taste is greatly heightened. It's very odd although quite pleasurable. Morning coffee tastes amazing and my oatmeal with cranberries and flaxseed kind of jumped out at me. Maybe I'm having culinary hallucinations. 😆

I had mine this morning. So far, no side effects at all.

Those moments where you make an obvious connection and are surprised you didn't realize earlier.

I just realized Red Bull's whole brand is a play on its active ingredient, taurine, which also means of or like a bull.

My wife has noticed that since she had her second shot, her senses of taste and small have been enhanced as well. It seems that if you get Covid, it stuffs up your smell/taste, but the vaccine accentuates it.

Now, if only there was a vaccine for my crook back...

Tell me about it! Been moving our warehouse all week (and last weekend). I can hardly move my neck. At it again tomorrow and Sunday.

Went this afternoon to my mobile and home internet provider (SALT Switzerland as it happens) to take advantage of Black Friday offers to renew my mobile plan and in a couple of weeks or so...will update my sig. iPhone 13 Pro Max 256 GB Sierra Blue incoming.

On my mind (perhaps due to hitting midlife or perhaps from being a pastor and spending time with a bereaved family last week and the funeral yesterday) is the fact that while updating my Photos.app faces feature for my family (wife and kids) that the day will come when this Photos dialogue will be permanent. In light of that, what kind of life am I living and what impact will I make…

I tend to think when comes to it Daylight Savings time should be stuck down. It was first made during First World War to save candle and oil lighting during the War years! Why it was kept is beyond me! So do we need to start pushing out States Representatives to start a Constitutional Amendment to stop daylight savings time! I feel strongly about this!

EU are also discussing removing Daylight Saving Time, or to keep only that time. That's the question, what time to keep?
Not a big thing, just has to be an agreement. Preferably.
Not the highest priority either at the moment it seems. Covid and such have rightly more priority.

I think everyone should stick to Australian Eastern Standard Time. That way, when we ring Aunt Mabel in England, it's not 3 am...

Cows in Aus. (and probably in other nations) ignore Daylight Savings Time. During summer, they rock up to be milked at the same "My udder is full, I need to be milked NOW!!!" time, so the milk trucks just have to turn up an hour earlier. It is an exercise in futility trying to discuss the finer points of DST with a cow.

Would be interesting how humans would react and even survive by getting back to an instinctual life, instead of the clock.

Animals live so close to Earth's and nature's various kinds of signals, that’s why we need them because it's totally natural to them. All drives to get pets etc is a longing to return to instincts I believe.
Human's have in so many ways lost contact with Mother Earth and themselves in their seach for evolution.

I don't say one thing has to exclude another here. Absolutely not.
I find for instance Elon Musk's desire to secure the 'light of consciousness' in outer space meaningful in comparison to all political forces who works against it on earth today.

Time will tell.... :)

We have a new female Prime Minister in Sweden today, 1st one actually 🎉🎈👑⭐️
Congratulations to the amazing Magdalena Andersson.

She seems to be incredible regarding communication, this fast and smooth I can’t recall a new government rebuilding have been anywhere close to before.
But she was talking through agreements with all other involved party leaders, so smoothly in no time. I already like her.
I am not that interested as such in politics in itself though. Usually just a bunch of old boring men.
But once in a while...something inspiring happens 😊

Eh, well, according to current news reports here in the US, Magdalena Andersson resigned from her new position only a few hours after having taken it on.... This is really unfortunate and I am sure that it has thrown everything in Sweden's current leadership and government into turmoil and frustration.

Yes, a little chaotic here now. She resigned after 7 hours ?

One party that was in the coalition behind Andersson’s to lead the country downvoted the governments budget. So communication and understanding on where they were was obviously not entirely clear.
Various options are presented now. See what happens in the days to come.
