Last few days in Athens before going back on a study excursion with the university exchange program I work for, first after two years and quite exhausting with all the complications.

Otherwise, my mind is on how I can't escape toxicity especially in the fandom of things I like. I got used to it here as an Apple fan, ignoring haters on both sides, ready to accept and offer valid criticism of Apple and other tech companies.

Now just tired of this in sci-fi, anime and sports fandom.

When ever I experience toxicity online, I just hit ignore and move on. Life’s too short and all that.

Sure, if it's just fans but the latest sport scandal has ruined my enjoyment of one of my favourite sports. Not for discussion here as it involves rampant nationalism. At least I am happy with Dr. Who and the NHL season.

So, it took me several years after a failed hackintosh attempt, but I'm finally getting my first Mac computer. I'm here to talk about my excitement more than the Mac itself and very few orders have had me on the edge of my seat quite like this.

Do enjoy. What did you order? I was quite late to Macs. My first was a 21” iMac. Now I use a Mac Mini at home and a 13” MBP at work.

I got me the Mac Mini, something I've wanted for a while. I was going to get a Macbook Air, since I plan to move and thought that would easier to take with me. But the Mac Mini was cheaper to use as a desktop plus I didn't really have the cash to get a laptop anyways. That's fine by me, I prefer desktops anyway and moving out is not that close in the future.

Now I can replace my DIY PC which I had built to turn into a hackintosh, and take my time fixing it then repurpose it into a server or something.

Generally the fish might have some complaints!

I suspect our Murray Cod could cope...

Minors should no longer be permitted to participate at the Olympics.
Indeed. It makes middle age dudes feel like such a loser because a kid has already accomplished more than I ever will. Gawd, a 13 year old Momiji Nishiya won a gold medal in skateboarding last year. I'll never win a gold medal in any olympic event--hail, I'll won't qualifiy for any event at that. No chance ever since they implemented the Eddie the Eagle rule.

Eddie the Eagle and Eric the Eel will forever be my Olympic idols: the common man who competed against the elites.

Hard to not be dragged into the joy and happiness that our Olympic gold medalists have.
The reports can not fail to reach me. So I enjoy what is served.
Our little but mighty country have already reaped 2 gold ???
Wonder how much it will get at the end….? Who will surprise, and who will fall?
The result: 8 ? 5 ? 5 ? some very impressive, some real disappointments, as usual.
I didn’t miss watching it though, not at all ?

I wantched Fringe instead ☺️

Now am back to winter after a very productive and fun study trip with my study abroad class in Greece, kind of weird to be back now that most restrictions have been dropped in Switzerland (except masks on public transport) whereas even to go in some shops (except grocery) in Greece you need the pass. Well all I will say about that - bought lots of coffee to tide me over as back to regular classes and briefings.

The trip to Greece sounds great and enjoy the coffee.

Anything interesting?
