If Apple were to increase the screen size I agree with this idea.
I don't understand all the people clamoring for a bigger screen. Who wants to carry something bigger than the current iPhone in their pocket?
Certainly not me. It is the perfect size without sacrificing too much screen space as it is.

Amen. If the phone gets much bigger I wouldn't be able to reach the opposite corners with my thumb and my hands are probably on the larger side of average. The 3.5" screen is nearly perfect. I hate how large some of the other phones on the market have become.

Larger screen, more color choices (pink :p) and no glass back. The glass back is nice looking but way too fragile and expensive to replace, so a case is usually used hiding the nice looking glass back anyways and adding more bulk.

I would also like the OS to look different, way too boring after so many years of almost the same thing.

Bigger screen. That's it. I would love the choice for either 4.3 or 3.5 but if Apple was to make a bigger screen, it'd probably just be a single 4 inch model.

4.3 is the PERFECT screen size for me :(
Same here. I'd also like no glass back; it's simply too fragile this way.

apologies if this has already been mentioned, however has anyone stated that if the screen is larger, then you would hold it further away from your eyes?

what is the discrepancy between the distance held from the eyes for a 3.5 inch screen compared to a 4 inch for a retina display? is there any difference, or is it too minimal to state?

the iPad is being quoted as a retina display if held 15 inches from your face. If Apple did release a 4 inch screen with the same resolution as the retina display, how far would you have to hold it from your face to not notice the pixels, thus still being called a retina display?

I would like the iphone to not be all glass. maybe gorilla glass or something more durable. If apple made it very hard to crack, they would have x10 the advantage over other smart phones. I never understood why phones started getting less and less durable. They are so cheaply put together now. So sad

People don't base their purchasing decisions on features alone. There are many other factors.

True but once people start learning the ease of other products, I imagine apple might have to do something about it. Knowing apple though, they probably wont

Only it you look at specs alone. It you consider the associated software, services and support too, I'd say Apple gives you the most for your money. And I guess there are many millions who agree with me on that.

Can you please tell me a few reasons why you say apply gives you the Most for your money?

Sure!

Apple give us iOS, iTunes, iCloud and unrivalled product support.

Yep. I like Apple products quite a bit, but it's because of the quality of their hardware and software and their unparalleled support. Name one other hardware/software brand that has its own stores worldwide AND offers excellent service. Buying Apple products, to me, is almost a risk free proposition. If anything is defective, I don't worry about hassling with customer service and spending hours trying to get a return. So long as I have a bona fide problem, I'm pretty confident Apple will take care of me. They've built up a huge bank of trust over the years, in addition to cash, and that's why they continue to be successful.

Now could this change? Yes, of course. They could lose their focus, start putting out shoddy, half-a$$ed products and care a little less about their customers. No one stays on top forever without an extraordinary amount of work.

I'd like to see a metallic home button shaped like the Apple logo, the metal matching an iPad style body that protects the edge of the glass better and provides a wider area for holding the phone.

Screen please. 4.5" and resolution boost. Scaling 960x640 while keeping proportions should cause little issue with existing apps.

iOS, iTunes, iCloud is nothing 'more' than competing products (and most products are competitively priced).

What support are you talking about? Because other manufacturers are catching up fast!

While I agree with the first part of your post, I'll have to respectively disagree with the second. I think they chose to use glass for aesthetic purposes mainly, not for saving money. Legitimate question: Is glass cheaper to use than plastic?

Support for TMobile, competition in the GSM/LTE world.

Better battery life (which will be tough with LTE).

you asked for his opinion and he gave it! not much to argue over here.

as far as customer service is concered, i personally havent dealt with a company that is as good as Apple in this area, but thats just me, cant speak for everyone!

4" screen is the sweetspot for me - not too big but not too small while still keeping an overall small form factor. After using the Samsung Craptivate for a year the only bummer going to the 4S was the screen size.

I'd like to see iPhone 5 come with a big refresh to iOS as well. Time to move beyond the static grid scheme.

This is the winning solution that Apple employs for it's entire product line. Create a great product and use the most affordable technological innovations whilst providing the user with the basic needed/wanted features. Then after the product becomes successful and the price comes down and technology improves, up the specs and add features (software and hardware). This is why people will stick to the iPhone. In the end it is not left behind it's competitors.

People complained about the original iPhone. Now Apple has addressed the vast majority of significant complaints from users.

Things that will change with iphone "5" for sure

- cpu+gpu (this is a 100% sure) with iphone4s boosting A5 and ipad "3" boosting A5X cpu and gpu will be upgraded in the new iphone :)

- 4G LTE (another 100% sure) this is a no brainer...

- cam (almost 100%) at least apple will do some improvements. It can still be 8mpx but will be upgraded

Everything else is just pure speculation...bigger screen, better battery, new design etc
