Don't bother, wireless charging will not be available until 11.0.1 or higher. Also fast charging requires a different brick that you have to purchase from Apple. Sorry to burst your bubble

Theres nothing on apples website to state wireless charging isn't available when the phone ships. Where are you getting this from?

Doubt it especially since ios 11 will be released on the 19th

Apple frequently releases iOS x.0.1 on launch day - or a couple of days after. They need to fix bugs found between the time the phones were packaged at the factory and received by the customer.

What’s be advantage of buying the Mophie or Belkin for $60 when the Anker is $22 and does 10w quick charging. What am I missing?

Anker is cheaper than "name brand here" yet they put out high quality products and their customer service is top notch. If you knew all of that then that's pretty much it.

Pretty much this. I have multiple Anker products and haven't had an issue with any of them. When I first started using their cables I was amazed at the quality I got for the price. Their battery packs are the only ones that I use anymore.

With the Anker, you still need to buy the wall charger which is an additional $16.

Samsung's wireless charging convertible is pretty good. Has three coils so positioning of the phone for charging on the pad shouldn't be an issue. The pad can be flat or vertical to prop your phone up in a standing position.

It’s a shame they don’t sell a Qi stand. I’m not into the pads too much.

Exactly!

I am also looking for a stand that outputs at least 7.5 watts. If anyone has an Amazon recommendation, please provide a link.

Also, may I be yet another person that swears by Anker products. They are the best bang for the buck.

Finally....

A question....

Since we are all new to Wireless charging....

I take it that there are no further accessories to buy in order to charge the iPhone 8 and X models on a charger? There is no additional cases or bricks to buy?

Thanks

EDIT:

Perhaps this one, but I can't find power rating on it. Also, it may need an additional charger according to one question asked

bboucher,

That's good to hear that you bought the one I was eyeing.

Did you buy the iPhone 8 or waiting for the X? I am waiting for the X.

If you did purchase the 8 and are expecting it in the next week, keep me updated as to how well this works with it.

Curious to see where you read this. Can't find anything on Google to back you up and nothing was said at the keynote to suggest a delay. All signs point to the iPhone being ready to wirelessly charge out of the box on release day.

Absolutely. That is the understanding I have.
