"Good To Be Bad" by Whitesnake. Holy crap, it's 1987 all over again! This album rocks (hard). :D

Hey Ma by James

Saw them the other week at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool and they were fantastic.

I've bought two copies of the album. One for me and one as a birthday present for my Dad. Must admit, I WANTED to like this album because I'm a big fan but it wasn't necessary- it's a corking album and a worthy addition. Really, really like this CD, it's fantastic. Favourite track: Boom Boom although the lyrics to Hey Ma are outstanding too.

Some offerings sung in Catalan, to move along towards summertime, for less than the price of tickets to Valencia or Barcelona:

Ciutat Magnetica, and Cambrers - Bustamante (Julio)

Got a few tracks from the Ciutat Magnetica on repeat now for awhile -- "Quan He D'anar-me'n" and "Imatge Sagrada" and "Tren de Color" -- they make me feel like I'm out in the street fair on a summer evening instead of closing up my windows as this area gets ready for a rainy Friday...

Just picked up the following:

Cavalera Conspiracy - Inflikted
Type 0 Negative - The Worst Of
October Rust
Testament - The Formation of Damnation

Esther Phillips - Home Is Where the Hatred Is

A 'best of' compilation, which I'm not usually all that keen on, but this is brilliant. What an amazing voice and Pee Wee Ellis' arrangements/production is fantastic.

Spoon-man..

The new testament freaking rocks. I am really digging it. The first song by far is getting one hell of a work out in my cd player. Chuck is back and man does he sound good.

I am also really digging CC..... glad to see those two are back and jamming together.

I agree about type o. I just started getting into them. As you can tell I have been buying them up as fast as I can. I can't get enough of them. I am really digging them.

Last bought: "Fight With Tools" by Flobots

Debating whether to get "Narrow Stairs" by Death Cab For Cutie since the ratings have been mixed...

EDIT: Bought the mp3 album off of Amazon and wow, "Narrow Stairs" is fantastic. The 30 second previews really disappointed me yesterday (plus Pitchfork's review of a 6/10) but I bit the bullet because so many people had raved about it and I am a big DCFC fan. I'm glad I did, it's a really great, balanced album. No songs truly stand out for me and it is no where near as good as "Transatlanticism," but the album is solid and fresh sounding.

Good album? I bought Big Sounds of the Drags ages ago, and haven't really listened much...

It's quite different from his previous works I'd say, but then again, most of his albums each had a different style (Big Beat, then pop/dance, now electro). Maybe you should give it a listen before picking it up.

On a related note, everyone should own the Radio JXL album.

I like your taste... I just picked up Sufjan Steven's "Illinoise" which I think you would dig...
