It doesn’t have multi-user support. While an iPhone is often used by one person, iPads are regularly shared between a few people.

Also, iOS could really use Android’s intent system, or what Windows 8 calls contracts. Then apps can hook into sharing and other common tasks. Now we had to wait for iOS 5 to get hardcoded Twitter support.

i'm surprised no one mentioned the ergonomics of it. it's really awkward holding it up (not resting) while sitting or lying down. fingers tend to touch the screen when browsing lying down and watching a movie lying down typically requires both hands.

a groove on one or both sides near back for fingers or something along those lines would be a welcome addition.

Apparently, I don't live in some cool hipster area where free wifi is available no matter where I roam. When I'm home with my iPad, I always have wifi on. Leave my house, and it's time to turn it off--or else deal with those annoying popups asking if I'd like to join every stupid network the iPad sees as I drive by (to say nothing of the tremendous drain on battery power as it desperately searches for those networks).

Settings->Wifi->Ask to Join Networks.
Set to Off.
Done.

Size. People out here get way too offended by personal opinions, but for ME then a 10" tablet is too big to be a "carry all the time" device. Give me an OPTION for a 7" with a 4S camera and I'd gladly get an iPad 2S/3, but if its just going to be the same screen size then there's nothing that would compel me to dump my iPad 2 and get a 3.

Most Annoying thing...

is the awful camera. I don't really care about the front facing camera because it's for video chatting, mainly and it does that well enough. The reverse camera though is just terrible. I was really surprised that apple would put such a substandard camera into their otherwise excellent tablet.

It's basically 'OK' for video recording but the stills are noisy, often to the point of uselessness. I've posted about this elsewhere, but from what I've been able to tell, the iPad 2 has a lousy sub-megapixel camera made lousier by aggressive autoISO.

Inability to create multiple "accounts" on the iPad with different apps for different family members.

I wish more developers made iPad friendly apps/universal ones. There are a few I use that are the mini size.

Camera is crappy. I have to take a photo on iPhone..transfer with Photostream and then edit on iPad and then send back. I can and have edited on iPhone but iPad (Snapseed) is much nicer.

Don't get me wrong. I love what the iPad can do...wish it did some things better.

Not a lot about it annoys me much, but there are some small things (some unavoidable) :

- the headphone cable. Sure, it has to go in 'somewhere', but in a device which typically is rotated a lot (especially for games) it always seems to get in the way. I guess wireless headphones should have been the way to go?

- The backlight bleeding.

- The glossy screen, annoying looking at myself whenever the screen is dark. I know the glass is necessary to protect the device, but.... maybe I'm not handsome enough to own an iPad? :p

- An app issue, rather than device; but too many apps (including Apple's own) put controls on the top of the screen or in the middle. This is a device which is typically held at the bottom left and right, and few people have thumbs that can reach the top or centre of the screen from there! This is a hand-held device, so think different Apple!

- Oh, and to steal someone else's complaint: There's little need for a 'swipe to unlock' on an iPad. Give us the option to turn it off. Just let me tap the Home or the Wake button to wake the device from sleep; nice and quick.

The inability to upload anything from the browser.
That is doesn't have enough ram in it so you can go back to a page and it having to refresh. Memory is cheap. Lob a decent amount in.
The home button.
The inability to select what app you would like to use from safari. The 'open with' seldom ever works.

Not enough RAM
Incomplete web browsing experience (Flash sites)
Not able to play various video formats (wmv, etc) without conversion
Poor camera resolution and picture quality

Add to that no back button so that after clicking on a link in my email, I cant hit a back button and be back in my email after viewing the link in my browser, like I can in my Android phone.
Same after clicking a youtube link in the browser.
No quick back button tote browser.

^^ 4 finger swipe to the left ;)

-Home button (just had my ipad replaced because of a faulty one)
-I too agree there is no need for the swipe to unlock screen.
-Would like to be able to close an app right from in the app (x button)

Since I often use it a photo portfolio, I would have loved to have seen the inclusion of a SD slot. It would also have been nice if the screen were slightly less glossy. I often sit with my back to a window, whether at home, on light rail, etc., and you could shave using the reflection. Generally I am very happy with it though.

This is the only thing that bugs me - when I'm using the smart cover to tilt the iPad, and then lift the far side up a bit to get a better view (it's often too flat for me in an office - the reflection of ceiling lights gets in the way), it tends to activate one or other of the volume switches. Personally, I'd prefer them on the top (far end from the home button).

Other than that, no issues at all.

Tiptopp

This. And the fact that the cover detaches slightly too easily for my liking.

I'll live.:D

I just got my iPad so I have few complaints. But one thing did stand out to me: it's heavy. I'd like for it to be lighter.

But since I bought my case, it's been much easier to handle. It is now a non-issue.

Ipad 2 Dislikes

-Don't need the back camera
-Reinforce, rematerial the case so I don't need a separate cover for the back (too slick)
-Lower Price point

As for Flash, I'd like to see Flash eradicated, its a parasite. While its a pain when I can't view Flash content I want to see, that's offset by not having to endure annoying, floating, banner ads that interrupt my viewing experience…so its really a wash.

I hate flash content on my PCs and Macs. HTML5 is so much less processor intensive.

i use the back camera every day. definitely necessary (for me). i would rather buy a case to protect it than have apple add weight, because i want to make the choice. as for the price point, considering what we get, and the fact that other manufacturers can't match it, i think it is pretty fair. if we regularly saw better hardware out there for less money, then i might think differently.

No multi-user support is a big one. And the cameras on the iPad 2 are so bad they're just about worthless

The fact that it actually has an up and a down and that darn home button - get rid of it

The people commenting on tech blogs that hate the iPad but claim they're going to buy the next best android tablet but 4 months later they still haven't bought a tablet but still proclaim the next one will be the best, and they will buy it. Then they still have never bought anything but they happen to believe that they are experts on tablets having never owned one.

My dad is the same way. He's convinced that some amazing Android tablet is right around the corner, but he has been waiting for over a year now and we have yet to see a really good Android tablet. The funny thing is that when he describes what he wants - the iPad would be perfect.

sadly ive seen ppl take pictures with it in public lol
i wont ever use it for photosharing (-the photobooth is fun)

The cable and iTunes. Moving files like pdfs, pictures, music, videos, etc. is cumbersome, requiring the connection of the cable and launching iTunes.

What I hate the most about my iPad is that everyone wants to use it.
