I'm not too much of a watch fan so I've stuck to budget watches.

Fossil Rose Gold with a Blue leather strap ($200)
Daniel Wellington with Brown strap ($300)

Can't remember what I paid for my Omega Seamaster 12 years ago, but seems like they are going for $4-5k now.

Spent another $1k on it 18 months ago to have it re-built and upgrade the band to one of the newer ones.

Most I've spent is $450 for a running watch. Most someone else has spent on my is $2000.

This one looks like the Bomb! If I decide against the Sport Apple Watch the Fenix 3 is squarely in my scope. I'm hoping the display if vastly improved from the one in the FR620, which reminds me of the old passive matrix screens on the first color laptops.

Jaeger Le Coultre MKII RAF '55 - about $2,000 a number of years ago, but traded for it with my IWC MK12.

About $60, several years ago for a Timex Ironman.
I took notice of the Pebble, but never forked over the money.
Some of the Suunto watches caused me to first consider that a pricier watch would be worth it (pricey to me, I realize that's a relative statement).

Was actively looking at something to better monitor my workouts (heart rate, GPS - like a Garmin or Nike) a couple of years ago, but when we started picking up rumors of an Apple watch back then, I went into "wait for it" mode.

The Apple Watch is so compelling for me (even without built-in GPS), I have no issue forking over $350-$400.

And since it's on my mind, hats off to you folks who have the income for those luxury watches! It's awesome that you're in a position to make such purchases! Screw the haters.
It's your money. Spend it however you see fit! I'd argue that everyone here would like to be in that position financially; why complain about other people's successes or personal choices?

I forget what I paid for my Rolex Explorer II. Around 8K or so. Maybe more. It is a great piece of finely-crafted jewelry that also happens to tell time.

My last purchase was a dress Seiko Astron for 2K, which was a great deal. That thing is amazing. Crocodile strap, rose gold case, ceramic dark brown face, non-glare sapphire dome crystal, completely solar powered, with a built-in GPS that sets both the time and the time zone. That thing is packed with technology. Very, very cool.

My daily driver is a Citizen, black DLC solid titanium case and strap with orange luminescent hands and numerals. It is also completely solar powered. Not expensive, but a great watch nonetheless. It was around $350.

Not sure how much I want to pay for the Apple watch, though. I'm certain I'll want a new one in one or two years, so I just can't see justifying 5-6K for the Edition model, if the price rumors hold true.

I'll probably just go with the black stainless model for me, and a white aluminum sport model for my daughter.
