22mbps is right about the limit for G. It's 54 theoretical, but divided by two since it's duplex, you get 27 theoretical maximum. 22 is about the practical limit. Not sure what it is for N, I've gotten up to 80 on N, but at that point, it's hard to tell where the limits are.

This is in Switzerland.

Too bad iOS devices limit their WiFi connection rates to 65 Mbps. I can't use my whole bandwidth with my iPad 3.

Is that a "typical" result in Switzerland? And yep, that is a bummer they put such a poor wireless radio in the device.

Not really, no... Most people go for slower, less expensive, options. Around 20 Mbps / 2 Mbps is more common.

I still believe I pay an Ok price for my connection. It's a triple play package including Internet, around 150 TV channels and a phone line with flat rate unlimited calling to 30+ countries. The whole thing is just a little bit over $100 a month.

Usually around 18-20 down, 2 up. This on Cablevision (yuck) with their regular plan (I.e. no speed boost enhancements).

In the Chicago area here--we pay about $60 a month for internet. It's supposed to be a 12 Mbps connection, but we consistently get around 20 down and 4 up.

i pay for 20mbit down and 1mbit up but usually get 30mbit down (for some reason)

$58/month with time warner i'm in desperate need or more upload speed, but don't want to pay $80/month

most of the fios and international screenshots make me want to punch things.

I have time warner too. I pay for 10MB/s down (sometimes get close to 20) and 786 Kb/s up (not even 1 up).

I would be willing to cut the 10 in half if I could get more 2MB/s up.

seriously. i'd pay $80/month for fios speed, but no way i'm paying $80 (unbundled price) a month for 30down and 5 up.

I check for fios all the time, but what I really need is faster upload speeds for my server. Yeah internet is expensive for what little you really get. I don't download a lot from my house, but I do upload a lot when I access my websites and my server in general.

Up until about a year and a half ago I had 0.8 download and 0.4 upload!

Luckily a nice little company installed FTTC... this still feels like lightning by my standards!
