now that Apple has jumped their AppleCare + cost up, what are your plans for insurance for your shiny new iPhone 6S or 6S+?

I have no insurance, received my phone yesterday can i still get applecare? or do y'all recommend something else?

Traditionally, that is the route I've always taken and ice never had to make a claim. With the price increase I'm more hesitant to do it.

Yeah, not thrilled with the price increase and I didn't even need to use it with my 5S (thankfully) but for me, if I had to make a claim/ get a new phone, I'd rather deal with Apple and their claim process than anybody else.

Yeah, I live ~30 mins from my nearest Apple Store and the convenience of just walking in and sayin "oops" and walking out with another iPhone is a huge plus.

I believe you can purchase it within 2 or 3 months if you call.

On topic: I've never usually purchased insurance, and I probably should because I never use cases or screen protectors. Honestly, i'm more worried about loss/theft than I am damage and AppleCare+ doesn't cover that.

ATT covers theft right? I may be wrong about that though...

Check your homeowners policies...could already have applicable coverage. Check squaretrade as well.

AC+ for the first time for me. Going naked this version and want that piece of mind.

Since I am 99% likely to get the iPhone 7, I will go with square trade. One need 1 year and they are cheaper all around.

I'm trying Upsie out. They seem new, but it was 49.99 for 2 years, and 25.00 deductible for any damage, etc. Doesn't cover loss of theft. Not sure how it will work out, and I've never really had the need for any type of insurance or whatever as I take immaculate care of my phone and don't think I've dropped one in the past 10 years.. *fingers crossed*

No Track record. You dont appear to be able to take to get repaired and then get reimbursed. Have to send in and wait 3 to 5 days. No idea what you get back either. Also, its a repair plan that seems to expire upon repair.

That's the same with the Gerk Squad plans, why I never did it on a phone. They(used to anyway) send your phone in and wait times were terrible. You could get a cheap loaner to get by, but nothing any good.
