i've taken a number of IQ tests. Lowest result I got was 134... I don't think IQ tests mean anything though.

I hope that's Lebanon, Pennsylvania, otherwise not really too bright.

I tested above average when I was a kid back in the 60's. Is it possible for your IQ to diminish in your later years?

When you are a kid, a different scale is used which compares your actual age and your intelligence age. If you have the intelligence of an average 12 year old, and you are actually 13 / 11 years old, your IQ is (12 / 13) * 100 = 92, or (12 / 11) * 100 = 109, just as an example. So if you are a fast / slow developer, you may have a higher / lower IQ as a kid. As an adult, absolute numbers are used, so an 18 year old, 25 year old and 70 year old with the same IQ number have the same intelligence.

So your intelligence should improved since you were a kid, but your IQ might have gone up or down.

And of course practice helps, alcohol, drugs, dehyrdration, certain illnesses will hurt.

However, imo IQ means f-all in reality. I ran a team of web developers with some really intelligent people but practically they had no original thought, failed to solve simple problems and couldn't apply practical knowledge in the right areas.

Seems they were not that intelligent then?

About the "not constant thing", I did read that the IQ can vary as much as 15 points depending in your state at the moment of the test.

I'm sure if you measure my IQ before and after breakfast, you'll find a difference of at least 50.

Can I point out that the results of this poll seem somewhat suspicious. Alright, downright BS. Also, I'm a PC user so am I skewing what you thought you were reading into this poll? Perhaps all the PC users are 130+ and the Mac users are the ones at 70? [troll: off]

128. Dunno how tho... I'm not really very smart, but I took several tests and all the results were between 115 and 130. 128 is the average of them all.

I'd say around average, but my work expects stuff beyond what most people do. But I am massively daft so it all balances out.
