No console has yet to surpass the original Xbox and its child-crushing-weapon status. I guess the 360's 912 pound power supply the size of a small u-boat could be used to crush half a child.

Yeah, but the PS3's heat-output'd easily make it a great trap or ranged weapon

Yeah, that will melt the flesh of a child's face from about 5 feet.

Um okay then...

Don't you guys get Marmite? It basically means something that you either love or hate, I've heard it thrown around mags here when referring to people liking a game that everyone else hates and gets less than favourable ratings (as you see with Red Steel or them mentioned PS3 games).

(Will be the) Xbox 360 since it actually have some games that interests me, unlike the Wii and PS3. Doesn't really matter if other consoles are cheaper or more potentially more powerful.

The VGA output of the 360 also helps a lot since I don't have the room for a big flat screen TV and would have to hook it up to my LCD.
It's a big selling point for me. Big enough that I'd still go for the 360 if the PS3 had the same games.

From a Bloodhound Gang song :
"like the Jim Jones cult I'll take you out with one punch"

Jimmi cool aid in my region is used as a slang to refer to that. Blind obediance of a cult. They all drank poisoned cool aid and commited mass suicide. There's a Family Guy episode making fun of that in the first season I believe...

the 360 for now- between the great library of games and xbox live, there is no comparison.
However, once the wii gets online for most of its released games, and earns more third party support, it will probably become my choice.

it's more next gen than the other two. all they did was up the graphics. :\

After spending all night playing GoW, Oblivion and some other random stuff that I've already forgotten about - this is painfully so  I find myself throwing the 360 into 480p just because it masks all the bad stuff HD brings out. I wish they worked on making things look more realistic (more shaders, DX10 tech) rather than upping resolutions so soon. Ho hum.

Have them all, and all three have there strengths and weaknesses.

I chose 360, and here's why.... From a European enthusiast perspective..

Wii has been a pain for me.

VERY!!! Slow european release schedule (still no super paper mario, no metroid till the end of November), dodgy import playing even with a chip which is now broken in the v.3 firmware. WiiConnect a great idea in principle, in practice over heats the wii - burns out the gpu and is pretty much useless as it only tells you to update, and not auto update so what's the point?

PS3!! Love region free gaming.. but what's the use when Sony have forbidden import/export shops like Play-asia from shipping to Europe?
Makes the process a bit stupid. Again the promised power of the PS3 is still like an untapped well, but it's' questionable whether it will ever be tapped - much like the ps2, we never got to the level promised from the early 'tech demos'.

Don't like the fact that games are also released a few months AFTER the 360 version. As an owner of both machines - I'm often not willing to wait 4 or 5 months for the ps3 version, and when it does arrive - so far there has been a distinct lack of quality over the version already out. (bar few exceptions like Oblivion)

Things could improve on this front though.

360...... troublesome hardware for many, but has been no problem for me. 2 machines, 1 from launch day and both working without issue.

Plenty of games, and so far for the most part the 'better' of the console version for many games.

So..... I chose 360.. But I still wouldn't want just 1 console I'd still buy all of them given the time again. ;):D

Absolutely...
no reason not to own at least 2 out of 3. ;)
(eventually I'll have the Ps3 as well)

Right. After buying the 360, accessories, games, live gold, etc., getting the Wii a few weeks ago was like pocket change. And I have been playing it non stop.

Wii baseball has taken over my life. I FINALLY hit 10/10 in home run derby, im such a noob

Definately the Wii because you can actually use that as a weapon.

Swing your arm to punch someone in Wii Boxing and actually hit them, then you can just play it off as a mistake, when actually all along thats what you meant to do!!

That in my opinion is a true weapon!!! :)

I have hit friends, walls, everything in my room swinging that damn thing around. It hurts!

I just got a PS3 the other day, but it's not yet my weapon of choice because I currently don't have any ammo. :p (ie, I don't have any games for it yet.. well besides my PS2 games. )

I smashed the controller into the ceiling once. Thought I'd try a fancy shot in Wii Tennis. Neither the ceiling or the controller sustained any damage. Testament to the house builders and Nintendo!

I know how you feel. I often play games with my eyes shut because the lack of photo-realism really ruins the gaming experience for me... 2029 can't come fast enough for me.

It ruins it for me when they try photorealism and come off in a filthy mess.

Honestly I can't wait for truly great visuals in games. Probably why my fave 360 games are the stylised ones or with unique art direction.

Maybe it's my bro's HDTV. But 480p 16:9 looks fantastic. 720p gives good results too. 1080p just looks really *too* crisp. Maybe I'm sitting too close... I am only about 4' away from the 32¨ TV :D
