No console has yet to surpass the original Xbox and its child-crushing-weapon status. I guess the 360's 912 pound power supply the size of a small u-boat could be used to crush half a child.

Hey, the Xbox is a multi-function device.

If someone trys to break into your house, you can sneak up behind em and bash em in the head with the Xbox.

I guarantee it'd knock em out. :p

Though the PS3 actually weighs more than the Xbox, due to the PS3s large heatsink in the bottom half of the machine.

On another note, the original PS2 gets almost to the weight of the Xbox when you have the network adapter and a hard disk installed.

The PS3. It's currently folding and waiting for Gran Turismo 5 HD and Grand Theft auto IV. :)

Behold its girth! :)

Speaking o' which. My bro just bought an original Xbox with LCD monitor and a mountain load of original games (non copied ftw!) for £30, he plans on doing some special BMW mod for it. Respray it and replace the Xbox badge with a BMW one. He has a hefty commision on it  it's mad what people want.

My next gen weapon of choice?

Whichever I need to play the latest fun game.

Partisanship and blind allegiances? Sounds silly to me.

I've currently got a Wii, but have been thinking about adding a second console to it. I was swaying in the direction of a 360, mainly for GoW and Halo3 ( possibly UT3 ), but then GoW was announced for the Mac. Is a 360 worth it for Halo3? And lately there have been comments that the 360 version of UT3 will ship with less maps than then PS3, due to space contraints of using DVDs.

So now, I'm leaning towards the PS3; UT3, GT5, and LittleBigPlanet ( ) are damn tempting. Not to mention DVD upscaling...

to be fair, the 360 has upscaling via VGA although I think upscaling PS2 games is a much more attractive feature than movies :D

I own a Wii and a 360. To be honest with you I barely touch the Wii. 360 satisfies my gaming needs much better. Im not gonna say I don't like the Wii it's great every now and then. But the quality and abundance of games out for the 360 is better not to mention the online aspect. IMHO, the Wii while fun in its own right, is not a next gen system. Not because of graphics but because the games still play like last gen games with a new controller.

Well, pick up MP3, all that will change.

Knock em out? Would kill them, more likely :p

Sounds possible, but the PC/Mac version would likely have the same problem then. I guess it could be solved by putting the maps on an additional DVD, or making it available as a download (though that would obviously require the 360 to be equipped with a harddrive).

PS3 version is also touted as having easier/better access to PC created mods (Microsoft's closed system is a problem). Will be playable with mouse/keyboard, and might be multiplayer compatible with PC/Mac versions...

Calling Metroid Prime 3 a shooter and categorizing it with Halo 3 simply portrays a lack of understanding of the game.

First of all relax fanboy, once again i said this is all my opinion so don't go getting your panties in a bunch just yet. I have no misunderstandings about the game but since money doesn't grow on trees my next shooter or game in general will be halo 3. And I don't think I'm wrong to say the majority of metroid plays like a shooter albeit with more backtracking and confusing wireframe maps (jab).

After playing Halo and its ultra repetitive maps, I can see how Metroid's maps would be considered confusing. ;)

You said "next gen" so I wouldn't call Wii "next gen", more "innovation" with the controllers. Fun system though!

The XB360 I'm using for HD DVD not to mention the fun games and XBox Live, hence my vote.

I think the PS3 was way too "ahead of its time" and will be competitive sometime next year...

:) im assuming your referring to the multiplayer maps. You're right the multiplayer maps in metroid prime are much better...oh wait...

Nope, the game for the most part. Although tons of fun, running through an open area, to a shaft building, then down, then to a bridge, then back to another open area, then to another shaft.. Well, you get my drift. It's been a few years, but that's how I recall it. :)

And let's not forget Halo's Library level... ugh what a drag.

The second and I think the third level are great though. However, as the game progressed, the levels seemed to get really boring..

Metroid's not safe from my opinions either. The Dark World in Prime 2 was a real drag. Ugh.
