Your not the only one who likes healthy food, my cake above has wild chestnuts in(though you can use vac pack) and I use organic ingredients too, sometimes you just have to have a sweet something and occasionally I make the above cake to satisfy that need.
Try it sometime, link is in the post :)

Thanks Marbles! I will actually give it a try just because it looks so good and it has some healthy benefits in it!
For me, the lactose intolerance and the GERD (chocolate triggers my symptoms) can step aside because this cake looks so darn good!

Thanks! :)

No probs, but if you have allergies are you sure it's worth it or were you being sarcastic ?
I make this cake simply because it has no flour in, and flour is one ingredient I can do without.
:)
Be careful if you do make it, it's very moorish

I'm a sucker for cottage cheese. I go through a couple of 24 oz. tubs a week, but honestly, I could do one a day.

You don't know what Portal is:eek: it comes with The Orange Box!
No , no interest at all in games , last game I played was when I was at school , some Karate game with about 7 levels , this fella would walk along each level while different things dropped down on him or snakes jumped up kinda thing , I was THE master at that game, I left school, moved on and started working and just don't have time for games these days .

Yes, and it is a most excellent game. I forget we Mac fans don't play games, since there are no games for the Mac, right? :D
Nothing at all to do with Macs being able to play games or not, I just don't like it being insinuated I tell lies whether it's some reference to a game or not, not everyone speaks game language matey!!, some of us do other stuff with our machines !. You should've had the decency to let me know what you were taking about .

You've lost me there Scthumple(I'm no gamer), either way the guy shouldn't be saying " it's a lie" without at the least backing it up or explaining it eh? kind of pisses me of that you know
It's a reference to a PC game "Portal".

Did you even see this post , a decent guy trying to explain what you meant , ever thought of taking the time to do that yourself?.

I just sometimes forget that not everybody is a major computer nerd like me. ;)

The no Mac gaming thing is a reference to the Windows fanboys who continually slam Macs for not being able to play games. I get tired of hearing "Yeah, but can it play Crysis?" (Or fill in the blank on latest first person shooter). Truthfully, I gave up most PC gaming years ago, since consoles got to be fairly powerful.

Portal got high praise because it was a break from the deluge of first person shooters that flood the market. It has a unique plot, with lots of puzzle solving. Throughout the game, the "bad guy" keeps promising rewards, such as delicious cake, for completing various experiments, which are really attempts to kill you. O course, you never get said rewards. In a couple of places, your character finds notes from other victims, including a warning that "the cake is a lie!".

There is some explanation. Better? :)

I'm probably into computers as much as you Stevie thing is, I'm into life/people/society as well and part of that is knowing how I make folks feel from my actions/words!, maybe you should lift your head out the BIOS/OpenFirmware every now n then ?.
I'm aware of the Macs/ windows thing and the game jibes that are made but seriously, I've not played a computer game for well over 2 decades.
Schtumple linked me to what the game is about and the reference of 'cake' out of decency to explain the meaning and I just find it a little bit 'off' that you said what you said and haven't yet even bothered to apologize.Like I said, not all people follow the gaming world in computers and it's just disappointing that someone could post something like that without explanation, I mean, what d'you expect someone to feel when you say something they did is a lie, I'm aware of the reference now(thanks Schtumple) and tbh I'd have found it funny if I'd have known what it was at the time, shame I didn't.

How is that response in the least bit disappointing? You didn't get the reference, most people who read this forum did. It's not knocking you, but even if you didn't get the reference, you were honestly mad (or...disappointed) that someone said your cake is a lie? How is that offensive at all?

"Disappointing" as no apology was forthcoming.

So most people on the forum 'got it' then according to you .....that makes it ok eh ? not for me.
Maybe I should apologize for not following computers games ??.

Someone wrote "it's a lie" under one of my posts. I am a truthful person and as such it offends me.

*edit> Ok look , let me put it this way, to cut a very long story short I was lied too a lot when I was growing up and this has somehow affected me, namely I don't tell lies regardless of how it could affect me in certain situations by telling the truth.
I take my word/honour, or whatever you want to call it seriously, ie: my truthfulness means everything to me .

ye I know , its a cake on a forum what does it matter ....if you knew me you'd understand, maybe everyone thinks I'm pedantic or whatever about it, I dunno.

I just came up with an awesome snack, well, it's more of a refinement of a common snack. Just eat a banana but smother it with peanut butter... sooo good.

Or if you have a 'banana nut' odwalla bar, dip that in peanut butter. It's pretty healthy and delicious.

You can never go wrong with peanut butter. ;) :D

Jammie Dodgers
Granny Smith Apples

These will be the death of me and I just received a dozen of them yesterday. Too bad they are only out once a year. :(

thin_mints.jpg

For the other times, I like to munch on Sun Chips, raisins, and peanuts(unsalted).

Keebler makes a cookie that is basically a very close copy of the Thin Mints. They also make one that is a reasonably close copy of the Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties. I hate having to wait for "that time of year"... although we did stock up on two boxes each of Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties :D
