What would BTS have to do with refurb availability?

They were probably thinking that people might return lightly used MBAs so that they could take advantage of the BTS offer.

So I was at the Apple Store today (in Fairview Mall, ON) and the asked the sales rep about the Back to School promo. He mentioned that they were told it would "start sometime at the end of June". Not sure how reliable this info is but just thought I'd share.

I really hope he actually did know and wasn't just pulling something out of thin air.

One of the Sales rep told me that the promo would start in a few days, and that was 2 weeks ago.... I doubt that sales reps know anything about promotions until the day of.

Some Apple Store Retail employees have posted or told people that they don't find out until the day of. I'd tend to believe them. "It'll start soon" or "It'll start at the end of June" is a pretty reasonable thing to tell customers based upon Apple's previous pattern but I doubt they have any real insight.

I get a corporate discount. Will save me about $100 on a fully loaded MBA 13". Are the BTS sales usually better than that?

Thanks...

Usually how much discount is there for the BTS promo?
Or is it just the $100 gift card?

Also, not every country gets the BTS promo right?

It's reported apple will have big move in education market. There are many reports for that. I hope they will give better this year.

How much discount was there in previous years?

BTS has never been a cash discount program to my knowledge (or at least not in the last 7 years). For the last couple of years, it's been a $100 gift card. For the few years before that, it was a free or heavily-discounted iPod (depending on the iPod model chosen) to go with a Mac purchase.

yeah - until 2010 they were giving away ipod touches. since then it has been itunes cards. me i'd rather have the ipod, even a mini by a mile but free is free :D

Apple's profit margins are under pressure, which is one of many reasons its stock price has fallen recently. I'm guessing that Apple will not do the BTS promo this year to improve margins by a little bit. I hope I'm wrong

I've been waiting for the BTS also - Has anyone who is interested in the MBA been turned off because of the WIFI issue? I'm not very tech savvy and I have enjoyed my macbook with no issues for 5 years. I've been waiting for this air a long time!

I haven't had any issues with Wi-Fi, so I don't know what the big fuss is about. Of course thats not saying that there isn't an issue with some mba's, I just do not think that it is as widespread as it is made out to be

I have the MBA i7/8gb/250. I do have wifi issues where the pages wont load up in safari after like 20min or pess usage. But it hase not put me off as i know apple will release an update. Also from what i have read is that if you change your router settings to WPA2 it could solve the issue.
