What do you mean by a separate wifi chip? The Apple Watch is already capable of connecting to wifi...
Ummm... as a bridge to connect to the iPhone. It doesn't use a wifi network to send or receive data, so basically without a nearby iPhone all the Apple Watch is capable of is activity monitoring, telling time, and like mobile payments. The second gen is rumored to be able to send and receive data without an iPhone.
A few hours extra battery life on something you'll still probably have to charge daily - well, your definition of significant is... Significantly different to mine.
Because my fiancee won't charge it daily most likely. I'm hoping with her light use of the device, getting it to last 2 days at a time.
Also, the cost of entry is nowhere near $600 and the point of buying it now is to use it now and not in a few months time? If you don't need it now you probably won't need it then. Waiting to spend $600+ on something you don't need is irresponsible AND ridiculous...
Like I had said, I would be purchasing this device for my fiancee as a wedding gift.... which is in 3.5 months.... so... yeah I don't need it now but I would need it by then.
