You have to wonder if the guy(s) making the decision to load one group of Macs in HK over the other realizes what's happening on this end.

ordered mine 7 am on the 9th and still in Hong Kong. I have to wonder what the heck is going on over there?

edit; I called fed ex Intl and they said it is actually is in the air and left Korea about 2 hours ago, so the tracking info isn't quite as up to date. So at least it's moving. Anyone that wants to check on theirs can call Fed Ex International division at 800-247-4747 in the USA.

...almost... there....

Ordered my 6-core 3.33 w/free shipping on the 9th... on the truck for delivery today!

Felt like it was never going to get here!

Thanks. Mine is still listed as being in HK, too. I ordered mine pretty much the second it came out and I don't understand how most people are going to be getting theirs already and mine probably won't arrive until Monday at the earliest.

Thanks for the info. I called them up and they said that mine is sitting in Korea now, even though fedex.com displays the package being in HK still. The rep told me that its part of a larger shipment, so I take it whenever that batch gets released is when they fly it to US. So yeh, they fill up a certain quota and then ship them out (for those whose are still stuck in China or havent been shipped etc).
Anyway I suggest you give them a call as the fedex.com isnt accurate.

Alternatively, whoever has a pilot's license here we can fly and get them :D

Just had an interesting conversation with an Apple sales rep on the phone. I called to ask about the status of my Order (ordered on the 13th, 6core+5870) since it is still "not yet shipped" status. I called just to verify payment because one card was charged, and the other card wasnt . . .

He said everything is good and he said he checked into the shipping details. He said it was NOT shipping from China, but from within the USA. He said normally he can see where it will be coming from (ie: which part of the US it will originate from) but he told me for some reason that wasn't available to him this time. He said it will likely come from California. He also said, "since it's shipping from the USA, I went ahead and upgraded your shipping to Overnight since it seems like its taking a little longer".

So, does this mean that a whole butload of these are actually in transit to Apple, where they will ship from inside the states? Anyone heard of this before? BTW, I originally paid for 2-3 day shipping, called and they credited me the amount (keeping the shipping time the same). So, it might be worht a call to have it overnighted once it ships.

Now that is an interesting development. There has been at least one stock configuration model that was shipped from within the US, but yours is not stock as it has the 5870. Any ideas anyone?

Maybe they will offer the 3.33 Hex with 5870 in stores instead of 5770?

just called as well and I'm in Korea too... wonder when that shipment will be released...

Funny thing is, 5 minutes after speaking with said Apple sales person, I get an email from Apple about my original order . . . hrmm, wondering now if someone forgot to "check" something when I ordered.

Do you mean the "Your order has shipped" email or something else?

Roger that. Although the I'm not sure the little SR20 has the legs or the payload to get to Korea and back with a couple of 50 pound computers :D

6 core 5870 ordered 8/9 @4:30 est, standard ship. Talked to international shipping rep and they said it just left Korea and to expect it on the 24th because its economy shipped. Bs

Man, I'm jealous of you guys obsessively tracking your Mac Pro's... I have absolutely no idea where mine is right now.

My order consists of 2 products:
- 6-core Mac Pro
- AppleCare

If I'm reading the order status correctly, my Mac Pro is being shipped via the wonderful "Merge In Tnst NL Til", while the AppleCare is being shipped by SYNCREON. The AppleCare shipping info has a tracking #, but that doesn't give me any useful info on the status: "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly."

I'm guessing I won't know more until it hits Tilburg, NL then?

Finally! Ordered the evening of Aug. 9th. 6-core, 8GB RAM, 5870. Standard free shipping.

Will have to get to it a bit later since I'm working.

Haha, the dog is thinking "okay, I won't be getting any attention for a while..."

Bleh - this is annoying - same ordering time and config as me, yet mine is still happily taking in the sites in HK....

I've never had luck with Apple and deliveries - wrong machine 1st time, stolen off the FedEx docks in DC 2nd time. 3rd time I think went ok, and I hope this time its just a little slow.

I suppose even if Apple shipped by order date, fed Ex is shipping willy nilly. Luck of the draw I guess. Some already went, some left Korea, some still in Korea. Oh well . . . . . It didn't pay to be first online to order the iphone either. It wouldn't really be that big of a deal if we hadn't been waiting SOOO LONG for this update. These last few days seem longer than the March to August wait.
