Doesn't much matter if they've shipped it, when the shipping company simply straps it to the back of an arthritic tortoise and gives it nudge in the rough direction.

I could've walked to Arnhem and back by now. It's not actually close than Liege anyway.

I suppose even if Apple shipped by order date, fed Ex is shipping willy nilly. Luck of the draw I guess. Some already went, some left Korea, some still in Korea. Oh well . . . . . It didn't pay to be first online to order the iphone either. It wouldn't really be that big of a deal if we hadn't been waiting SOOO LONG for this update. These last few days seem longer than the March to August wait.

yeh :)

APPLE!!!!!!

still in HK!!!!!!

WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! Mine flew into Portland last night, and just got on the truck! Looks like today is the big day for me! (too bad I work from 5-11 tonight. *sigh*)

I have been following these Mac Pro forums since July when I got funding for a new Mac. First, following all rumors (daily, sometimes hourly) about when the new Mac Pros would be released, then when they would be shipped, then when they will arrive. Aaarrggh!

Anyone old enough to remember the old Maypo cereal commercials? (I want my MAYPO!) Instead, its "I want MY MACPRO!"

Anyway, My Mac is in Korea, though Fedex online says Hong Kong.

I live in Portland. Want me to babysit it while you are at work?

lolno. It's only a quad anyway. Also, MINE! MINE! MINE!

....You're in Portland too? The more you know. (I'm actually in Vancouver, fyi. FedEx doesn't have a center up here like UPS does though, they just send the trucks over the river to deliver something up here)

I used to hate Hong Kong. . . Now I hate Korea. . . . God let this be over soon.

Dont worry, your RAM isnt coming before your MP is there anyway, and 3x1gb doesn't do it justice :D

Well just in case I still have the 3x4gb which I'll send back next week. Fed Ex says the Korea flights are in the air headed to Alaska. I wish we had access to whatever she is looking at. I'd be calmer about this but I sent my order to our Delaware address to avoid taxes and I need to plan the time to drive up from Maryland to grab it.

With three days of my hexacore (ordered within minutes of availability on the first day, free shipping) apparently in HK, I just called Fed Ex for the hell of it and asked them what might be going on. The answer I got was, "It's in a huge trailer full of thousands of packages from Apple. That whole trailer has to clear customs in Hong Kong, then you'll see it start to move."

In other words, a null answer, since we know that "that whole huge trailer" doesn't move as a unit.

FedEx is frustrating, but I'm not sure there's a real alternative in the U.S.A. I've just had too many experiences that prove beyond a doubt that UPS simply doesn't care, and the more valuable the package, the less they care.

Does every1 else's tracking page say international economy distribution under service type?

Mine says Standard Overnight, but I'm not sure if it has actually been picked up yet. It says Estimated Delivery is today, but I kind of doubt it since it hasn't changed since last night when I got the shipment notification. I have expedited shipping. I cancelled my first Mac Pro order because I was thinking about just getting the i7 iMac instead, but then changed my mind and ordered the Mac Pro with 5870 again on Tuesday. So, I was quite happy to get a shipment notification last night.

They told me that that backup was already on the way to Alaska.

Called and spoke to the Fed Ex rep as well since I was on the 3rd day of staring at Lantau Island... She says it left Korea bound for the US a couple hours ago (sounds familiar) and said she'd report the problem with the website not updating. Honestly, who knows if any of this is true but I'll hope it is. Will probably arrive on schedule - the 24th.

Interesting that it ships from US already. Also why is it 10 lbs heavier than mine ;) Am I getting an undeveloped child here ? 3.33 Hex with 5870 Weight 23.5 kg/51.8 lbs

I doubt that there is anything wrong with the website, but rather them not scanning at every process, or rather scanning for internal use only.

I wonder when that Korean flight arrives in Anchorage? She said it left around 10:30 pm Korean time. This is the most stressful package I have ever tracked.

Mine is probably an estimated shipping weight. When it is picked up it might change.
