Any 12-cores come in yet?

It's a mear 20 miles from me at the local sorting facility hub (San Jose, CA). Should be here (as promised by FedEx) tomorrow morning before noon. Yes I paid the expedited shipping 8)

Clearing space and preparing to transfer from the old G5 tonight, ready to GeekBench it and post

I hope you're prepared for your face melting off due to insane speeds. :p

Anyone here?

Has anyone here gotten or are expected to get their mac pro this week who had standard shipping???

Ordered mine on the 15th and not even prepared for shipping yet as well. I had very strange issues with apple accidentally somehow overbilling me my $3000 though, so I don't really know what is going on.

This is now my 3rd night in a row going to sleep with the status of Lantau Island, HK. I hope I wake to something else!

My Hex is in BUFFALO, NY, US as of today! Awesome, I'm not too far from NY, so I expect it next week for sure.

When did you order, and was it expedited or regular?

I ordered Aug 12 and I chose regular shipping. Departures for both China and Alaska are 18/08/2010 (????). Departed LOUISVILLE, KY 19/08/2010 and now sits in Buffalo.

I ordered 3.33 Hex + 5870 on 12th and Im still in HK

I got the 5870, too, but only the 3gb stock RAM. Maybe it's just luck which ones get out first, which sucks a$$ if you paid for expedited shipping. In my opinion, these shipping companies are third from the top of the Consumer Gougers List. Cell phone companies are first, then printer companies (i.e. Epson and their overpriced inks that shut themselves off after a programmed amount of time) and Home Invasions are maybe fourth. I remember in eBay's glory days, UPS was gouging people for all they were worth with their hidden "brokerage" fees.

Hope you get your Mac soon! I know your pain. I was waiting for this Mac Pro update for months, like most here, so everyday it's in transit feels like an eternity.

Woo just landed about an hour away from me. Still says Tuesday delivery, but definitely hoping for Saturday...or tomorrow :)

Finally finished transferring my account from my iMac to my Mac Pro... took something like 3 hours.

Now the fun of installing apps (I didn't want to transfer the apps with Migration Assistant cause well, I don't trust it).

Also.. first time using the magic mouse... can't get right-clicking to work properly >_> [EDIT] Oh wait, the option was off in preferences.

What are your first impressions so far ? :)

Pretty good... I have a couple reasons to be wow'ed though cause I got two U2311H's today at the same time - currently running triple monitors off the machine - never had this configuration before ;)

And well, I've yet to stress it though. It is running things smoothly so far. It's quiet aside from the HDD which I consider normal.

Hmmm.. what else is there... maybe I'll playback some 1080p blu-ray rips for the hell of it. Just to feel how better off I am now that I got this - can you imagine how painful it is to watch 1080p on a 4 year old iMac? lol... it's rather liberating now ;)

[EDIT] rofl.. I just installed iStat Menus. And since my preferences on the iMac was to show %ages for each Core, it filled the entire menu bar... I think i'll change that setting
