I just tried it. I find the interface very difficult to navigate. The interface is just too busy for an iPad display. You have to switch to portrait to even see the full height of the mixer. Not to mention it crashed 2 times. I cancelled the renewal and will keep using Logic on Mac.
Thank you for proving the ipad is not a mac replacement, this is exactly what I have been trying to explain, the ipad costs as much as a macbook air/pro, once you add the pencil, the keyboard, the ipad starts to look like a macbook, but it does not behave like a macbook...
IpadOS is not MacOS, I wonder would fcp/logic on the ipad be better for running MacOS on the ipad, after all at 12.5 inch screen size, with 16GB RAM and 2TB hard drive, it is 2 times the macbook air from 2020, the base model I have, the ipad is missing certain gpu features maybe, but really the screen is not all that much smaller than the macbook air..
I have thought, if the larger ipad is the same screen size, and once you add the keyboard, it is really a macbook, why is it not running the same OS? Or on the 1TB/2TB ipads, include 1x 64GB "OS" module that dual boots Mac OS and IPAD OS?? Stupid thoughts I know...
The ipad mini, small compact touchscreen device that is a bit bigger than a phone, and not a laptop replacement makes sense, the ipad mini 2, perfect size, for calendar updates, watching youtubes on the train, for writing emails, light video editing, audio editing, web browsing.... If Apple included the SD card slot, or USB slot, then wow, it would be useful..
I am trying so very had to understand the point of the ipad in 2023, without the SD card, without a 2nd USB C port, without reliable editing to/from/on an external SSD... fcp on ipad makes no sense... Even worse, in the decade since I bought my ipad mini 2, which I still use... Apple has developed or licenced any sort of external SSD for the video/audio editing market.. Which would buy Apple SSD by the pallet...But no....
Anyway I did expect Apple to launch a non functional app, and that is what they did with FCP10.0.0, a total pile of a dog's digestive system no longer required by the dog... FCP for the Ipad is just part 2 of the same disaster...
