I really like the current iPad line up but I think some models shouldn’t exist.

They won't - but I feel it's [past?] time to, with the exception of maybe AirPods, drop "Air" from the product naming convention across the board. For iPad, it would yield a 3-tier lineup: iPad mini, iPad and iPad Pro. Cleaner and more intuitive while still offering differentiation.

This is it. This is the one I’m waiting for. I have a 2016 iPad Pro that I’ll be upgrading with the landscape-camera OLED 11” M3 Pro, whenever it comes.

- iPad Air will get M2 this fall.
- iMac will get M3 this fall
- iPhone 17 Pro models A17 / standard models A16
- iPad Pro models will get M3 in March 2024
- MacBook Air's will also get M3 in March 2024
- MacBook Pro's get M3 Pro/Max at WWDC 2024 June 2024
iPhone 17? Don't you think we should se what's in the iPhone's 15 & 16 first, and then start speculating on what's in the 17? Just a thought. :)

How about a MagSafe 2 Power Adapter to charge the iPad Pro 🤩

Apart from battery life, my 2018 iPad Pro is soldiering on. I don't even really use it for "Pro" functions and I only got it because it's the only way to get Face ID on an iPad.
That’s my debate and machine as well. It’s mostly plugged in so can live with the battery life. I would like more power for the screen multitasking though

I'd really like to see most Apple products, at least iPads and Macs, join the iPhone with predictable annual updates. Would be great if iPhones were in September, iPads in March, and Macs in June around WWDC.

Blame Macrumors, they keep discussing future iPhones and its messing with my mind.

What I would love to see in a future iPad Pro...!
  • 14" or 16" iPad Pro (Studio?)
  • M3 Pro SoC / 48GB RAM / 4TB SSD
  • 120Hz ProMotion OLED (MicroLED?) display
  • Support for external display (up to 32" 6K 120Hz ProMotion)
  • Support for Apple Mixed Reality Headset (concurrent with external display)
  • Latest iPhone Pro cameras / sensors
  • Front camera(s) in Landscape orientation
  • Apple Pencil 3.0
  • Magic Keyboard 3.0 (actual edge protection / multiple TB4 ports / 3.5mm smart impedance audio out jack / secure Apple Pencil storage)
  • iPadOS / macOS (Lite?)
  • Final Cut Pro / Logic Pro / Xcode
  • Affinity Suite / Procreate
  • Blender / Octane X
  • World of Warcraft / GTA6
;^p

I bought every single iPad Pro and still own the last three generations, but I'm not looking forward to a new iPad Pro whose main feature will be a new display technology I have no use for and that will only make the devices twice as expensive as before.

Good things come to those who wait.

I tried to hold onto my 2017 until next year’s anticipated hardware update, but worsening LCD bleed and my overthinking things resulted in an M1 from the refurb store a few weeks ago— a nice upgrade for me—which will prevent me from having to check the rumors daily and mentally camping out in line for the update from now until whenever your awesome new iPad is launched.

I had no hardware problems with my '16, but then early last year I got a replacement unit as part of "battery service" - they just take your whole device and give you one somebody returned or that was never sold. Overall it's been a pretty amazing ride but I think it's got its final iPadOS update so the clock is ticking.

We need to have the landscape camera now. It's past time.

Usually a feature arrives on the pro device, and then slowly comes down to the cheaper models. Not with the camera orientation!

That was a lucky battery service. You’re still mentally camping out in line for the new model launch, but your buddies brought a tent, food, and some cold beer.

WHAT? 48GB of RAM is way too much on an iPad. All of this would mean it would need to be thicker. And a fan. Oh no, what if iPads started sounding like Intel macs!
