If your right it will be totally 5 weeks between Beta 5 and GM? Sounds like a very long time since there have been 2-3 weeks between the recent betas. I know that they usually increase the time between the Betas but it feels like a huge step.
Nothing really new or strange in any of that.

It's pretty normal time length between the final beta and the GM. It's usually around one month.

For me, Beta 5 is nowhere near ready. While I suppose the amount of apps crashing on launch can be attributed to failure on the developer side of things, the fact that I cannot open a pdf file from an email in the stock mail app says things are still hugely buggy.

Gotta remember that apple has nightly builds internally. I am sure that is being tested and worked out.. No need to fear.

I agree with you. I think it needed a Beta 6 before going to carriers and then to GM.

It still feels not even a 7/10 in terms of being ready. But it is just an opinion.

Couldn't this "Beta 6" be the GM?

Or maybe this build has some of the new iPhone 6 features that we won't find out about until Sept 9th.

I just hope that we can successfully update to the final build when it's ready for the public without having to wipe, etc.

It seems like I couldn't get this to work last year and had to wipe and restore from iCloud.

Yeah you usually have to wipe to go from beta to final release. Probably will be the same.
