How do you get it in your cart on the website? I can’t do that on mine. I tried a few times, but I have to go through the selection steps each time. Weird.
It doesn't get into your cart - not until 9/17.

You get an email like this:

What's the rush?
Is everyone who pre orders running a dying iPhone 5?
Maybe they're just excited about the latest iteration of one of the best smartphones on the planet and financially stable enough to not clutch at $1000 like it's a purse on the subway

This is the most underwhelming iPhone release in recent memory. I wonder how well it's going to sell... I see no reason to upgrade from an iPhone 11 Pro Max yet.
Yeah it's a complete mystery how well the latest iPhone is going to sell. Can someone fill in me and this guy with their informed estimates on how well one of, if not the, best smartphones on the planet is going to sell? Especially with so many other great choices on the market such as Android phones that fold in half?

Don’t have to stay up this time thankfully. Will be on vacation on launch day and have to wait for the dates to slip a bit. Staying up till 5am is brutal. Much preferred 3AM EST

I love the naysayers who say this phone is underwhelming and it won't sell. 😂. That's what they hope will happen but the truth is the iPhone 13 is gonna rock in sales! There are tons of members in this very discussion preordering. Very sad people who want Apple's iPhone 13 to fail. Makes no sense. 🙄
Yep. Anecdotal “evidence” always fails us, but FWIW I’m blowing $1100 on my first phone in 3 years - so whoever is keeping score, do be sure to tell us what a lackluster cycle this will be.

Just wait until MR reports on the pre-order numbers on the iPhone 13. The naysayers will soon see they are in a tiny minority. 😊

I don't disagree however the battery on my iPhone 11 Pro is hardly making it through the day and I've been wanted to get the Pro Max. If it wasn't for the crazy trade in deal with AT&T, I'd probably wait another year, but $1000 for my trade in?!?!? Can't pass that up.
I consider myself fortunate... My iphone 11 Pro model still shows 100% capacity after more than a year. I definitely do not have a need to upgrade. I love the long battery life.

Wow. My Jan 2020 iPhone 11 is at 84%. I don't know how it degraded so rapidly.

It always amazes me how many trolls comment about product launches. Often said people feel they have to say it’s not enough of an update/upgrade for them. That tells me that they are either on the fence about buying it or they don’t have the funds.

Let people be happy and keep the negative comments to yourself. The preorder threads are for people who are excited about new things.

The Apple Store app tells me preorders start at 1pm even though I’m in Germany, a 2pm time zone. Wouldn’t be Apple these days without a bug I suppose.

I am from India and I have been on iPhone since 3G model and I used to upgrade phones every 2 years, primarily since I get a decent resale from the old phone plus launch time deals. I am currently on 11 Pro, and 13 Pro would have been a normal upgrade. This time though I am not convinced and here is why.

Even if I make use of GST credit and discount looking at paying about 1.05 Lakhs INR (1430$!) for the new 256 GB 13 Pro Vs US price converted would be still about 88k INR with taxes. Let's say I manage to sell the old phone for 40k INR, still paying 60k INR (815$) for the device in India.

For:
  • An improvement in camera, screen, better processor and battery life.

Against:
  • 11 Pro is still under apple care, showing 95% battery, can easily take another year of my usage without having issues.
  • Apple care for new phone is some 23k INR (313$) since they upgraded to Care + Vs some 4-5k (55$) earlier.
  • The camera usage still would be 10% of my use, for me the newer chip would have provided maximum benefit along with slightly better battery back up, which is not at all show slower, forget stopper lol.
  • Apple does not even offer a charger or a ear phone buds anymore after paying such a premium.

Apple care and the phone accessories though looks trivial, may have been a decision changer for me when am paying big bucks I feel...

In short first time since I moved to iPhone, I don't feel that YOLO or special feeling towards the new iPhone... I think I will just wait for another year or more..
