is there a reason you choose to speak to others with such vitriol and arrogance?

Perhaps to wind you up. You always take the bait, even when you have nothing to contribute.

Edit: Ok here is another answer. There are no facts about continental divisions, only opinions. However, some people in this thread continue to argue like they know something others don't. They don't. It can't be too difficult to understand that this issue is only based on opinions, can it?

not to ruffle feathers but isnt the uk in europe?
Feathers appear to already be ruffled on that topic. And to answer your question : Yes, the UK sits on the British Isles, which geographically lie on the European Continental Shelf. The UK is also a member of the European Union. So both geographically and politically the UK is most definitely without a shadow of a doubt a part of Europe :)

Of course, except in this case 'IMHO', meant 'in my honest opinion'. Again, thats just something some people choose to see differently. ;)
You do realise by ignoring my question about Japan you're just proving yourself wrong, don't you?

You do realise that it is a completely different issue. I am talking about the UK and Europe. How the issue of that is of divided opinion. I am not talking about Asia and Japan which I really couldn't care less about. I don't know if a similar seperation of opinion exists in regards to Asia and Japan.

I DO know that this seperation of opinion exists with regards to the UK being classed as Europe.

Absolute rubbish. The status of the two is exactly the same. Japan is an Asian country just like the UK is a European one, although the UK is even more a part of Europe since unlike Japan the entire UK landmass sits on the same tectonic plate.

The only difference of opinion here is between you and the rest of the human race, except maybe you can consider Robert Kilroy-Silk an ally for your side or the argument.

Nice friend you've got there :p

I don't even know why this tangent took off. The UK has a seperate poll option from Europe. Pedantics and the bible according to davidjearly. start your own bloody thread about how un-european you think the UK is and see how many agree with that.

But it is many times counted as south america. Officially north america ends in mexico and south america starts in panama. So you can choose either way if you are in central america, ideally central america is a region on its own... but we don't have that option.:)

Officially, North America ends in Panama. That's how the continents are broken up.

Umm remember there is central america? Not many people count it, but we consider ourselves (costa rica) part of central america, not north nor south.

continentally speaking, central america is the southern end of north america. you are not your own continent.

Hang in there, Luis. Latin America has no boundaries. ;) It really could have been better worded, as several have suggested. No wonder the OP fell off the continental divide.

It's considered sloppy [unword] mapology, but you should feel free to consider yourself as part of Central America.
